I’ve filmed attempts at nappy recycling before but because this process involves shredding and squeezing, but no heating, it’s pretty odour free (which was a huge relief!)

By the end of 2017 the hope is the plant will process 45,000 tonnes of waste a year, diverting it away from landfill and instead using it to generate power.

A random fact for you... A giant magnet is used to make sure no metal objects end up in the power station fuel.

So far they’ve recovered forceps (which makes sense for medical waste), cutlery (who eats in the toilet?), handcuffs (!) and a purse with someone’s passport inside which will soon be returned to the owner.
