    Twenty seven cars were issued with parking tickets in a city suburb - in just over an hour.

    The blitz was on cars that were illegally parked in the Bordesley Green district of Birmingham on Saturday.

    Bordesley Green police used their Twitter account to post pictures of some of the ticketed cars, some of which were parked across pavements, junctions and disabled bays.

    The barrister defending Julie Wadsworth, cross-examining today's witness, suggested he was mistaken, he'd got the wrong couple.

    The witness said when the couple were first charged with similar offences he searched the internet for their images and recognised them immediately.

    The case continues at Warwick Crown Court.

    After having sex with her husband in view of teenage boys, the court heard, Julie Wadsworth told the teenagers to "come back next week at the same time" and that she might "let them have a play".

    Giving evidence at Warwick Crown Court the alleged victim said he and another 14-year-old boy did return to the scene and were both indecently assaulted by her in the presence of her husband.

    They were scared, he claimed, of Tony Wadsworth standing by with a camera around his neck.

    The pair deny all charges against them.

    A jury has heard from a man who claims he was indecently assaulted in an Atherstone park by a female radio presenter when he was 14.

    Jurors at Warwick Crown Court heard the man, now in his 30s, claim Julie Wadsworth also touched another boy indecently while her broadcaster husband Tony Wadsworth stood close by.

    The alleged victim said in the course of the encounter the couple had sex up against a tree in woods on the edge of the park, in full view of him and other boys.

    The couple, of Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, deny indecent assault and outraging public decency.

  6. Motorcyclist dies in crash near Birmingham Airportpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 22 May 2017

    Two people have been arrested, external after a motorcyclist died following a collision on the A45, near Birmingham Airport.

    A man in his 40s died at the scene just before 12:00 yesterday.

    The A45 was closed in both direction between Catherine-de-Barnes and Damson Parkway following the crash.

    A 22-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were arrested a short time later in Erdington and remain in police custody.

    A cartoonist who spent decades drawing Desperate Dan and Korky the Kat for the Dandy comic has been honoured at his old school in the Black Country.

    Charles Grigg, who was a pupil at Rood End Primary in Langley, Oldbury, will now be remembered following the unveiling of a blue plaque at a special ceremony there yesterday.

    He died in 2013 at the age of 97, after suffering from Alzheimer's.

    A huge pile of waste has been dumped just off a country lane in a field in Frankley, near Birmingham.

    The load was dumped metres from an Environment Agency sign saying "no tipping".

    Birmingham's first Olympic-size swimming pool has opened in the past hour, in a new £55m centre.

    The University of Birmingham Sport and Fitness Club, external is on the corner of the Edgbaston campus but will be open to the general public.

    Train operator London Midland says more than one in 10 of its trains last week were delayed by more than five minutes.

    It tweeted this morning to say 84% of its 6,503 trains were on time or less than five minutes late, , externalwith the UK average being 91%.

    A report about an apparent abduction of a schoolgirl from the Black Country was made up, say police who are investigating the allegations.

    A 12-year-old told officers she'd been dragged into a taxi by four men as she left school in Stourbridge last Thursday (18 May).

    West Midlands Police says, external it's assessed CCTV footage in and around the area and has found no evidence of the alleged attack.
