    The away allocations for each of the derby matches between Blues and Villa this season have been increased slightly. , external

    The football clubs say the allocation has been increased to 2,100 seats, a 5% increase on last season in recognition of better behaviour by supporters.

    Both clubs will now be able to take just over 2,000 fans to the away fixture

    Train provider London Midland has announced it will change its signs on accessible toilets to acknowledge invisible disabilities.

    The new signs will be displayed on all accessible toilets throughout London Midland's 43 stations.

    Dan McLean, from Crohn’s and Colitis UK, said it was a great step towards "reducing stigma and raising awareness that not every disability is visible".

  6. Bank holiday weekend: Roadworks and railway disruptionpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    A bank holiday weekend is on the cards for many of us so if you're planning on moving around the region be aware that you may face some disruption on both roads and rail.

    Though most roadworks in the country are being lifted that will not be the case on the M6 at Spaghetti Junction and the M5 at the Oldbury viaduct.

    The work there is considered too vital to stop.

    Rail passengers will also face problems when London Euston closes, external on Saturday and Sunday as upgrade works take place.

    Disruption continues on the Chase railway line until Tuesday, affecting passengers in Rugeley, Hednesford and Cannock areas.

    The parents of a Walsall man whose body was found in Cannock at the weekend say they're "extremely devastated, external" at the "tragic loss" of their son.

    Ryan Shenton, 25, was discovered on Saturday morning in a secure yard off Market Place.

    A mystery surrounding a barge left by the side of the road in Sandwell has been solved.

    The council, feeling high and dry, made an appeal earlier this week to find the owner of the vessel on Vittoria Street in Smethwick. They've now been identified - water way to solve a riddle.

    The owner, who has not been named, has been asked "to get it moved as quickly as possible", we're told.

    A road in Dudley remains closed while police investigate the circumstances surrounding a man's serious leg injures amid reports of gunshots.

    Emergency services were called to Himley Road at about 22:00 following reports of a man being knocked over and the sound of firearms.

    A 36-year-old man is being treated in hospital, police say.

    A union representing bin men in Birmingham is calling on the chief executive of the city council to step down over the authority's handling of a dispute which saw weeks of strike action and a build-up of rubbish.

    Unite is angry over an authority report that says the ground conceded to refuse collectors - that brought an end to strike action - is not financially viable.
