  1. Community hospital to reopen after three-month closurepublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 27 October 2017

Bishop's Castle Community Hospital is reopening to patients on 6 November, after a three-month closure for maintenance.

The work included laying new flooring. The NHS said it has been trying to treat patients in their own homes, where possible, during the closure.

The Shropshire Community Health Trust, which runs the hospital, said it would see if lessons could be learnt from the period of care in the community.

    Quote Message

Staff at the hospital have already had a chance to see the new look, and I am sure patients will agree the work that has been done is a big improvement when they get to see it too.”

Staff at a Cheshire wildlife centre have been naming rescued seal pups after characters from Game of Thrones.

It just feels very surreal. It sends shivers down my spine [walking on Gas Street Basin] to think this is where it all began. Indeed this is where it almost ended. It was the light of a post man's torch which meant he saw me as a baby and saved my life. Exposure had already set in and the hospital think I'd be left outside for two hours in the middle of November."
