    Patients are still being treated in corridors at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, health bosses admit.

    The trust in charge of the hospital pledged all patients would be treated in proper wards from next month.

    Since Saturday, about 850 people have attended A&E at the hospital, with a "small minority" of those being cared for in the corridor, the trust said, because of lack of space.

    Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and Alexandra Hospital in Redditch are all run by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which was placed in special measures in December 2015.

    The borough council says the £21.5m project would see 141 new council homes on two sites in Tinkers Green and Kerria.

    It says it appointed developers earlier this year and the proposals will be shown to residents on Monday and Tuesday evening.

    After this stage of the consultation, the council says a detailed planning application will be submitted in the coming months.

    Today is the last day at work for many of the staff at Aga's Coalbrookdale foundry in Shropshire.

    The company says it is due to officially close at the end of the month.

    Cast iron prodution began on the site when a factory was opened by Abraham Darby I in 1709 and Aga has been making parts for its ovens there since 1946.

    Aga will continue to make oven parts at its factory in Dudley and assemble them at its plant at Ketley in Telford, but will also be importing cast iron parts from Europe.

    Train services passing through Birmingham are being delayed or cancelled, with disruption expected to last until the end of the day, says London Midland.

    He says the West Midlands force has lost £145m and 2,000 officers since 2010.

    Children born with heart problems in the UK are being "let down" by a lack of research into new treatments, experts have warned.

    Researchers from the University of Birmingham and Birmingham Children's Hospital have found that less than 1% of British youngsters with congenital heart problems are involved in clinical trials.

    The study also found , externalbetween 2000 and 2016, only 3% of clinical trials into children's heart surgery were conducted in the UK.

    The research, funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), found that only 10 trials were conducted in the UK and none of these were large, influential trials which are needed to change treatments or guidelines.

    Two bear statues which went on display in Birmingham over the summer are now enjoying retirement at a tip in Birmingham after they were vandalised.

    Snowy and Build A Bear - were among more than 100 on display across the city and were later sold at an auction to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

    Utility firms have been blamed for contributing to the poor state of the roads on a housing estate in Shropshire.

    Telford and Wrekin Council's announced it's going to spend £600,000, external on repairing them along with paths and drains in the Hollies Road area in Wellington.

    The authority says the state of the roads hasn't been helped by "poor quality" work by utility firms after they've been digging in the area.

    The plans also include a traffic calming scheme on Hollies Road.

    An 87-year-old man's been found covered in blood at his Sutton Coldfield home, external after police say he was viciously beaten and robbed.

    Staffordshire Police says Arthur Gumbley was discovered lying on the floor of the house on Endwood Drive last night.

    They say he'd been punched in the face and kicked while on the foor and will need surgery after suffering severe bruising.

    Officers say they are looking for two men who they say ransacked the house and stole cash from Mr Gumbley's wallet, although they don't yet know if anything else was taken.
