    A woman's been taken to hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries, external after being hit by a car in Redditch.

    West Mercia Police say it happened this evening, at around 16:25, on Colts Lane and involved a Ford Focus.

    They say the victim, who's in her 80s, has been taken to hospital. Officers say the driver's not thought to have been seriously hurt.

    Worcestershire's Moeen Ali won't "take any notice" of the Australian team sledging him during the Ashes, according to his dad.

    Moeen is thought to be in line to move above wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow to number six in England's side.

    The Ashes series is renowned for tough talking and sledging, with past players telling the BBC they've even been sledged "by the captain of the aeroplane" on arriving in Australia.

    But Moeen's father Manir Ali told BBC Hereford and Worcester he's ready and calm for whatever may come.

    The government says there should be a decision on funding Shrewsbury's North West Relief Road by next summer.

    It says the project will be judged against others around the country to see which represent the best value for money.

    It's already carried out a consultation on the plans and says it is compiling up-to-date traffic figures.

    A school in Cheshire has started creating a memorial garden, external for one of its pupils who was killed in the Manchester Arena attack.

    Nell Jones was one of 22 people killed when a suicide bomber detonated a home-made bomb in the arena's foyer in May.

    The garden, which will have lavender and herbs and a river of pebbles, will be open to the public.

    It features a section where members of the school community can place decorated pebbles in memory of a loved one or loved ones.
