    The local council says Cradley Road, Cradley Heath, is only open to traffic in one direction between High Street and Station Road.

    It says the road's set to stay one-way until about 10:00 tomorrow in time for a Christmas lights switch-on.

    The centre was set up to help former servicemen and women deal with trauma, depression and post-traumatic stress disorders.

    Combat Stress said earlier this month that it needs to "balance the books" in the face of increased demand and wants to offer a new outpatient service instead.

    A woman's suffered several injuries in a crash involving a lorry and a car on the A34 in Stoke-on-Trent this morning.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says it happened just after 08:20 on the Stone Road southbound near the junction with the A500.

    It says the lorry driver wasn't hurt, but the car driver, who's in her 50s, suffered leg, arm and chest pain, and was taken to hospital.

    Worcestershire County Council's been resurfacing the High Street as well as adding a new pedestrian area and street furniture.

    Some traders had raised concerns to BBC Hereford and Worcester about the impact of the work on trade.

    But the authority says it was "essential" and they've got it finished before the Christmas shopping rush.

    Campaigners have criticised a shake up of maternity services in Shropshire by saying health officials are "playing games with the lives of women and babies".

    Shropshire Defend Our NHS has hit out after Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) set out plans for Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Oswestry.

    The proposals would see women not be able to give birth at those three maternity units which would be revamped to offer other maternity services.

    The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust said 97.3% of its women give birth at units in Shrewsbury and Telford or at home.

    The CCGs says their proposals are aimed at better care and making sure women in the county "have equal access to a wide range of related maternity services close to home".

    Eleven branches of RBS in the West Midlands are set to close as the bank's announced hundreds of closures across the country.

    The total of 259 closures involve 62 Royal Bank of Scotland and 197 NatWest branches.

    RBS, which is 72%-owned by the taxpayer, said it would try to ensure compulsory redundancies were "kept to an absolute minimum" but it cutting 680 jobs as more customers bank online.

    In the West Midlands, Shropshire and Birmingham and the Black Country appear to be taking the brunt, with branches in Bridgnorth, Newport, Birmingham, Bilston and Wolverhampton on the closure list.

    Police are trying to trace a teenage girl who is thought to have injured herself in a Coventry park last night.

    The West Midlands force says the search involves a "large number of officers" and the police helicopter and has been going on throughout the night.

    It said it was contacted by a passer-by at 20:30, who said the girl, thought to be about 14, was self-harming in the War Memorial park.

    She is described as black and possibly of Somali origin and she was wearing a blue school uniform.

    Coaches from black and ethnic minority backgrounds still face "institutionally embedded barriers" in English football, according to a sports think tank.

    The number of black or ethnic minority managers in the 92 league clubs is now just five, including Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves.

    The Sports People's Think Tank's (SPTT) annual report, external says progress since 2014 has been "minimal" for BAME candidates.

    Just 22 of the 482 senior coaching roles in English football's top four divisions are held by BAME coaches, according to SPTT's research.

    It now wants English football to adopt the Rooney Rule.

    Named after the former American Football club owner Dan Rooney, the rule was introduced by the NFL in 2003 and states that at least one ethnic minority candidate must be interviewed for each senior coaching position.

    A man is in hopsital after being hit by a van in Nuneaton this morning.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to Mancetter Road shortly before 06:30 and found the pedestrian, in his 40s, had suffered head, chest and leg injuries.

    "Appalling" and "pathetic" is how a new Christmas attraction in Lichfield has been described by many local residents.

    The festive themed ice rink, which is run by the Three Spires Shopping Centre, has been criticised by a number of people for its location in a car park and also for being too small.

    Writing on Facebook, external, Ann Bach said: "Surely we can do better."

    David Hassell wrote: "What council numpty thought this was a good idea? The Lichfield brand has just got rather tarnished."

    But Jordan Haynes wrote: "Why are people moaning its quite obvious it's for little kids."

    In a statement, the shopping centre says it's trying to add to the Christmas shopping experience in Lichfield and it hopes people continue to use the rink.

    Officers say the road has been closed between that roundabout and the one at Trentham Gardens, heading towards Stone.

    A post-mortem examination's expected to take place today to find out the cause of a seven-year-old boy's death in Birmingham.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says crews were called to an address in Cook Street on Sunday morning but the seven-year-old was declared dead at the scene.

    Police said a 56-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were held on suspicion of wilfully ill-treating a child but have been released under investigation.

    More dogs in Staffordshire are being treated at the moment for suspected Alabama Rot disease after another dog died after contracting the disease.

    Little is known about the potentially fatal condition, which often leads to kidney failure in dogs.

    Phil Richardson's dog Jake (pictured) died days after a walk on Cannock Chase. Vets were initially unable to spot the rare illness, mistaking it for a paw injury.

    A vet confirmed one dog had died, but could not say the disease was being contracted at Cannock Chase.

    There are a further three dogs in the Stafford area currently being treated for suspected Alabama Rot, including Rachel Hogan's three-year-old dog Milo who walks a similar route to Mr Richardson and Jake on Cannock Chase.

    He is now recovering but will probably be on medication for the rest of his life.
