    A Black Country speedway club says it'll do "everything" it can to keep the team going.

    Cradley Heathens came back into the sport in 2010 but doesn't have its own stadium and instead track-shared, firstly in Wolverhampton and then Birmingham.

    However the club says it is struggling to find available stadium time and met this week to discuss what to do next.

    Today is says in a statement that, external it is currently "in a state of flux" but hopes to put plans in front of other speedway clubs at the next National League Annual General Meeting.

    Both managers come up against their former clubs, with Nigel Clough in charge of Derby from January 2009 to September 2013, while Gary Rowett had a two-and-a-half-year stint as boss of Burton from May 2012 to October 2014.

    Police have been given more time to question a 21-year-old Birmingham man who was arrested on suspicion of terror offences.

    Metropolitan Police arrested him in south-east Birmingham on Tuesday and say they can now detain him until next Tuesday.

    The man, who has not been named, is being held at a London police station, along with another suspect who was arrested in London, as part of the same operation.

    The father of a seven-year-old Stoke City fan who died earlier this month says he was brought to tears when fans applauded for a minute in his honour last night.

    Lewis Crossley had led the team out as a mascot in August before he lost his battle with leukaemia

    The force says the 15-year-old boy suffered head injuries in the crash in Bilston, Wolverhampton last night.

    They've arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 37-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    The fire service says the crash happened on Market Street, Longton this morning and crews had to remove the roof of one of the vehicles to get the driver out.

    He's been taken to hospital and treated for chest, back and leg injuries.

    Police helicopters in the West Mercia force area have the fourth-slowest response times in England and Wales, according to a new report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary.

    It said the average time they take to arrive is 41 minutes and 39 seconds, with the report showing helicopters got to the scene quicker in smaller urban areas like London and Manchester than in more spread-out rural areas like Cumbria, Dyfed-Powys and Lincolnshire.

    The HM Inspector of Constabulary report also said that across England and Wales helicopter flying hours had nearly halved since 2009, and 24,873 missions were cancelled mid-flight in 2016.

    The authority on etiquette and behaviour, Debrett's, has changed its advice on how female councillors should be addressed, saying they should no longer be referred to as Miss or Mrs.

    It follows a campaign from Deneice Florence-Jukes, a member of East Staffordshire Borough Council, who objected to the way she, and other women, were referred to.

    The trust that runs the hospitals in Shrewsbury and Telford is facing a £19m deficit, a board meeting has heard.

    Senior managers heard action was bein taken to reduce that by the end of the financial year, but said spending was going to be tight.

    Plans to reduce spending on agency staff by £4m actually resulted an extra spending of £4m, while income was also £3m less than expected.

    Police searching for a missing teenage boy believe he may be in the Crawley area of West Sussex.

    Mark Cottee, 15, who has been living in the Powys area of Wales, was last seen when he visited the Donnington bonfire display in Telford, Shropshire, on Saturday 11 November.

    He has links to the Crawley area.

    Officers are concerned for his safety and welfare.

    A teenage motorbiker's died after a crash in Wolverhampton, external.

    West Midlands Police says the 15-year-old suffered serious head injuries in the collision with a car at the junction of Lunt Road and Boswell Road, Bilston last night.

    He was taken to hospital, but died there this morning.

    The force says a 16-year-old, who was also travelling on the bike, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    Officers have also arrested the 37-year-old driver of the car, a Toyota Auris, also on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    The family of a woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Birmingham has made an emotional appeal for more witnesses to come forward, external.

    Three people have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released while investigations continue.

    A fourth man, aged 47, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
