    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

This one probably depends on West Brom getting money from the sale of Jonny Evans, which in itself is by no means straightforward - but a Baggies bid for Watford front-man Troy Deeney could be on the cards.

West Brom boss Alan Pardew is desperate to bring in a striker who can score enough goals to steer his side away from relegation trouble.

I understand Deeney is one of the names in the frame.

  13. Is George Eliot Hospital flirting with 'bad old days'?published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2018

    Michele Paduano
    Health correspondent, BBC Midlands Today

Inspectors' judgment that urgent and emergency care at George Eliot Hospital must improve is a serious setback for the Nuneaton site - but it has to be seen in the light of a 2013 report.

It was in special measures, had one of the highest death rates in the country, and said it needed a partner organisation.

Many thought it would not remain an independent organisation today, but it is.

That said, many of the latest findings relate to training and learning from mistakes - what the hospital needs to realise is it’s only a step away from the bad old days.
