    Work on a new shopping centre on a former factory site in Burntwood will start next month.

    LCP said the 68,000 sq ft retail park would cost £15m and contain at least nine units, plus a drive-through restaurant and 300 car parking spaces.

    It will be built on the former Olaf Johnson site on Cannock Road and it should be ready to open by the end of 2019.

    At the moment it said no "anchor tenants" have been confirmed, but talks were at an "advanced stage".

    Intu, the owner of the Merry Hill centre in Brierley Hill, says it's agreed terms with Primark for the retail firm to expand its current store at the site into the former BHS shop.

    It's been empty since the department store chain went bust in April 2016.

    Intu says it's part of its plans to spend £100m on Merry Hill , external since taking full control of the site two years ago.

    Wormleighton is the first parish in Warwickshire to receive a HS2 grant.

    The £75,000 sum will pay for a kitchen and toilet facilities at the St Peter's church, which will open it out for wider community use.

    Crewe's loan signing Daniel Barlaser says being coached by Newcastle's manager Rafael Benitez has helped him develop as a player.

    The 21-year-old has joined on loan until the end of the season and came on as a late substitute in Crewe's 3-2 defeat to Wycombe at the weekend.

    The M6 between junctions 14 and 15 in Staffordshire has reopened, Highways England says, but there are still long queues of traffic.

    Earlier they were up to nine miles (14km) long, it said.
