    A nightclub in Birmingham city centre has had its licence suspended for 28 days following serious disorder last weekend.

    The decision was made following a fight - West Midlands Police said weapons were brandished inside the Prisma club in the early hours of 28 January.

    A 26-year-old man was treated for cuts to his face.

    Highways England says one lane is closed and there are delays of about an hour.

    Tyrone Evans performed high-risk stunts on his bike and many videos of these went viral on social media.

    But he often rode illegally on public roads and Dec Evans said his son had not been wearing a helmet when he died.

    A surgeon convicted of fraud after lying about the number of operations he had carried out to get a lucrative job, is to be sentenced today.

    Sudip Sarker told interviewers in 2011 he had conducted 85 keyhole procedures, 51 of them solo - the true figure was just six.

    He was appointed to a £74,000 job at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, but immediately struggled.

    A jury at Worcester Crown Court took less than two hours to find him guilty of fraud by false representation.

    A yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office from 20:00 until 15:00 on Tuesday.

    Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill was full of praise for his team's first-half performance as they kept up their strong recent form with a comfortable victory at nine-man Sheffield Wednesday.

    The win moves them up to 19th in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone.

    David Davis poked in after the Owls failed to clear a corner before Jota made it 2-0 with a low shot from range that went through keeper Joe Wildsmith.

    Marco Matias saw red for an off-the-ball incident and Jota tapped in his second from a rebound before half-time.

    A Birmingham man is due in court charged with stabbing a man to death at his home.

    Tairu Jallow, 29, died at the property in Havelock Street, Kettering, on 14 January.

    Police said a group of men broke into the Gambian national's house before the attack at about 21:00.

    Clever Makande, 23, of Brandwood Crescent, Kings Norton, Birmingham, is accused of murder and is due at Northampton Magistrates' Court today.

    A pilot suffered only minor injuries after making an emergency landing in a Warwickshire field.

    The plane came down yesterday afternoon in a field just off the Fosse Way close to Compton Verney.

    Despite the plane flipping over, the pilot was lucky to walk away, the fire service said.

    A teenager remains seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in an alleyway over the weekend.

    The 17-year-old was attacked early on Saturday morning on Jameson Street, in the Whitmore Reans area of Wolverhampton.

    West Midlands Police believe the boy's phone was stolen during the attack and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
