    A mediator has been appointed to oversee talks in the long-running legal row over the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

    The owners of Coventry City, Sisu, were granted permission to appeal against the city council's sale of its share of the stadium's operating firm ACL to Wasps Rugby Club.

    But the three parties involved were instructed by the Court of Appeal to hold mediation talks in a bid to resolve the dispute.

    In a statement, the council said a confidentially agreement was in place and no further details would be made available.

    Advice on how to safely clear snow and ice from footpaths and drives is being given out by Shropshire Council, external.

    Key points include not using too much salt (a teaspoon per square metre is enough), not to use hot water (which will freeze) and to pile snow at the edge of the footpath closest to the road.

    The authority also says there is no law preventing you clearing away snow and that if an accident does occur outside your property it is "highly unlikely that you would be sued" as long as you are careful and don't do anything to make the footpath more dangerous than it was before.

    A Sainsbury's store in Coventry remains closed after a fire earlier today, which is being treated as arson.

    Work is continuing to assess the damage at the store in Fletchamstead Highway, said the company, which happened just before 11:00.

    Alfie Dingley's mother Hannah Deacon said she was desperate to see the government act quickly to give him access to the medical cannabis trial that she said had improved his condition while being treated in the Netherlands.

    The six-year-old can suffer up to 30 violent seizures a day, due to a rare form of epilepsy.

    "It's not something any mother or father should have to go through," Ms Deacon said.

    "He's a very brave, strong litle boy, but his body won't last forever if he keeps getting injected with steroids every week."

    The weather isn't the only thing that's freezing today - Stoke City has decided to freeze season ticket prices.

    It means they will cost the same next season as they did a decade ago.

    The club's chief executive Tony Scholes said the club wanted to keep football affordable and reward loyal fans.

    Supporters will be able to watch football from £294, regardless of what division the club is in next summer.
