    The first self-styled "premium" autonomous car has been unveiled in New York - and it's a Jaguar.

    The Jaguar I-Pace, made in conjunction with Google's self-driving unit Waymo, will be tested on public roads this year.

    By 2020, the firms say 20,000 self-driving Jaguar Land Rover sport utility vehicles (SUVs) will be part of Waymo's public fleet.

    Waymo has committed to launching the first fully-driverless taxi fleet - without a human safety driver - in Arizona by the end of 2018.

    Several post-war buildings in the centre of Coventry have been given Grade II listed status.

    The Department for Culture, on the advice of Historic England, has given the recognition to sites including the Upper Precinct and the former Leofric Hotel.

    Grade II status is the lowest of three grades available, meaning the buildings are "of special interest warranting every effort to protect them".

    The move comes after a six-month campaign by the Twentieth Century Society, external which says it's "delighted" at the news.

    The ambulance service says one of the drivers, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital with several injuries, including the leg injury.

    The home secretary's written to Telford's MP to reiterate there won't be a specific government-led investigation into child abuse in the town.

    But, according to a tweet from the town's Conservative MP Lucy Allan,, external Amber Rudd wrote the local council can instead raise its concerns with the national inquiry into child sexual abuse - or hold its own.

    Telford & Wrekin Council has previously said a government-led statutory institutional inquiry would have more powers than a council-led "independent expert inquiry".

    The West Coast main line franchise has been opened to tender.

    Transport Secretary Chris Grayling outlined how the new operators will play a key role in Britain's new £55.7bn high-speed line.

    The three final bidders will run trains on the existing line from 2019 and introduce services on HS2 in 2026 and up until 2031, he said.

    Business Secretary Grek Clark says he will only make a decision on whether to intervene in Melrose's proposed takeover of Redditch company, GKN, on national security grounds after the Ministry of Defence has delivered its expert advice.

    He made the comments in an urgent question on the issue in the House of Commons.

    It was not clear when that advice would arrive.

    Mr Clark has written to Melrose demanding "binding" commitments from the turnaround specialist over its £8.1bn bid for the engineering giant.

    All the lanes on the M6 northbound in Staffordshire have reopened this evening, external, after earlier resurfacing works overran.

    Highways England has apologised as the works between junctions 14 and 15 were due to finish at 06:00.

    The pothole repairs were carried out between the turn-offs for Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent and it says the lane closures were all lifted just before 17:00.

    A photo's been released of a French bulldog, stolen when three masked men burst into a house and threatened them with a knife before pepper spraying them., external

    Police say they held a knife to one man's throat during the robbery in Portland Street, Hereford, and pepper-sprayed him and two other residents.

    Extra police patrols are now being put on in the area after the three burglars, who all wore scarves over their face, made off with a handbag, electrical items and the dog.

    A man has been charged over the death of a girl who died on a school trip.

    Holly Brown, from Barton-under-Needwood, was on a school minibus when it collided with a bin lorry on the A38 Kingsbury Road in Birmingham.

    Nicholas Bush, 53, of Kinghurst Way, Kinghurst, who was driving the bin lorry, is set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday 29 March charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

    Emergency carriageway repairs are still being carried out on the M6 northbound, where there are two lanes closed between junctions 14 and 15 in Staffordshire.

    Drivers are being warned of long delays in the area.
