  1. What next for West Brom?published at 11:24 British Summer Time 3 April 2018

    Rob Gurney
    BBC WM Sport

After four months in charge, Alan Pardew has left West Brom, but what's next for the Baggies who are seven points adrift at the bottom of the table?

Statistically, in the "results business" that is football, Pardew had nowhere to hide. The only surprise to many Albion fans is it hasn't happened before now.

The ill-fated trip to Barcelona in February demonstrated that Pardew was struggling to exert any authority over the dressing room.

I think a populist appointment may be the route they take, someone with history as a player at The Hawthorns - Derek McInnes, a former Baggies' captain now very successfully in charge of Aberdeen - or Michael Appleton, another former midfielder, currently assistant to Claude Puel at Leicester.

If it's either of those, or someone else, one thing's for certain - an enormous overhaul of the playing squad is required.
