    Workers for a power company caused damage to the water pipe which has caused extensive flooding in the Wednesbury area.

    Western Power Distribution said the damage happened as engineers were installing a new electricity cable.

    Supply at the local substation has been isolated "at the request of the fire service" it said.

    Twelve properties are without power in the area, which will be restored once water levels have subsided.

    Two more schools have shut this afternoon after the water main burst in Wednesbury.

    Sandwell Council says St Mary’s and Ocker Hill Primary Schools join Old Park Primary School in shutting as the water's been cut off.

    They add that Leabrook Road North and Leabrook Road are closed to traffic.

    A woman had to be rescued from a house, external by firefighters after a water main burst in Wednesbury.

    West Midlands Fire Service says it has about 30 staff and water rescue teams at the scene, external and water levels have reached 3m (10 feet) in places.

    Crews say they're also searching cars in the area, several of which have been submerged, and have a pump on the scene removing water.

    A burst water main in Wednesbury has left some customers without water and others with low pressure.

    The pipe on Leabrook Road is currently gushing water and leaving cars flooded up to their doors.

    The main was damaged by a third party, South Staffordshire Water said. Engineers are at the site.

    At 19 years old, Dennis is the oldest dog ever rehomed by the RSPCA, the charity says.

    The terrier cross was spotted in a garden in Coventry at the beginning of March, struggling in temperatures of -2C.

    He was treated at the RSPCA's Newbrook Farm Animal Hospital in Birmingham and has now found a new home in Coventry.

    Owner Liz Sidgwick said Dennis reminded her of her previous dog and "deserved a chance" despite his age.

    Laura Webb from St Peters, Worcester, gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Jacob, at the Worcestershire Royal at 06:28 on Monday morning.

    Following in her footsteps, the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy at 11:01, weighing 8lb 7oz.

    Laura's partner Scott Page told BBC Hereford and Worcester that they had no idea they were expecting until she went into labour.

    A man is set to appear in court charged with causing the death of 14-year-old girl after a crash involving a school bus and a bin lorry.

    Holly Brown, 14, was on a trip with her Staffordshire school when the collision happened in Castle Vale, Birmingham.

    The driver of the bin lorry, Nicholas Buck, 52, of Kingshurst Way, Kingshurst, Birmingham, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

    Holly, a twin, was part of a group of 21 students from John Taylor High School in Barton-under-Needwood.

    Police officers commandeered an unusual mode of transport to deal with an alleged attack at a golf course - two golf buggies.

    Officers were called on Friday to Greenway Hall Golf Club, in Stockton Brook, Staffordshire.

    Staffordshire Police says officers used the buggies to get quickly across the course and arrest four men on suspicion of assault.

    They were later released without further action. One man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
