Businesses in Eccleshall are being challenged to reduce the amount of litter both they and their customers drop.
Stafford Borough Council wants firms to sign up to a pledge from today to keep the streets clean.
A similar scheme is already in place in Stafford and Stone.

An oil tanker has caught fire after it is believed to have hit a building in Stourport.
The fire is on Barracks Road, not far from the town centre, and has led to a plume of black smoke that is visible for miles around.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue says five fire engines are at the scene.
The ambulance service says there are no reports of any causalities.
BBC Hereford and Worcester was told staff at the town's marina were told to evacuate as a precaution, but have been allowed to return.

It's not just the River Teme in Herefordshire which is drying out in the hot weather.
This "path" used to be the River Manifold in the Staffordshire Moorlands, near Leek, but now more resembles a cycle track.

More than 75,000 people have visited Dippy the dinosaur, during its current stay at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
Dippy the diplodocus had been a resident at the Natural History Museum in London for more than 100 years, until recently standing guard at its entrance, but is now on a tour of the country.
More than 22,000 tickets were snapped up on the first day of release for the Birmingham stopover, and further free tickets have just been released which can be booked online here., external
The exhibition is in the city until September.

A fire on the Staffordshire Moorlands that has burned for six days is now finally out.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been working night and day to bring it under control.
It said it would carry on inspecting the area through the weekend, to make sure it doesn't reignite.
Two people have been flown to hospital after a car left the A49 near Onibury in Shropshire this afternoon.
One of them, a woman, had to be cut free from the vehicle and a third person is being treated at the scene, following the incident at about 14:00.
The A49 remains closed in both directions and police are at the scene, Highways England says.
Lucy Letby was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of the murder of eight babies at a hospital.

Chris Bainger said there was some water flowing here, a few miles away from Stanage, where we saw a dried-up river bed yesterday.
But he warns it is likely to dry up there soon and expects to be back, to help rescue fish.
The Environment Agency has already rescued hundreds of salmon and trout from the river and is asking people to report any which appear to be in distress.
An elderly man has died in a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent this morning.
Emergency services were called to Margill Close in the Shelton area just after 04:00 and firefighters say the 83-year-old was found dead in the house.
It's believed fire was caused by a cigarette that hadn't been put out properly.

A dog had to be rescued from a car, after it had been left locked-in with "only an inch gap in the window", police said.
Wolverhampton Police said "luckily" officers were alerted by a member of the public, and they "responded immediately".
It reminded people "not to forget our four-legged friends during the heatwave."

Crewe Alexandra have a lunchtime kick-off for their pre-season friendly against Nantwich Town tomorrow and manager David Artell is warning his players to prepare for the heat.
He said it was something they always had to be ready for and it was "one of life's unwritten rules" that the first match of the season in August would be hot too.
The game was originally scheduled to start at 15:00 but was moved back to avoid a clash with the England game.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife, after police were called to a shopping centre in Coventry.
Officers were called to the West Orchards shopping centre in the city.
The 17-year-old would be questioned in due course, said West Midlands Police.
