    A Coventry Green Party member's pulled out of the race to be the party's deputy leader after her father was jailed for sexually abusing a 10-year old girl.

    David Challenor was sentenced to 22 years last week.

    He'd been Aimee Challenor's agent at the last general election.

    More than 200 workers at Staffordshire University are on strike today in an ongoing dispute over pension changes.

    The union Unison says around 530 staff in roles like cleaning, admin and security face a drop in their pension value because they've been moved from their local government defined benefit scheme.

    A spokesman for the university said: "We are able to provide these staff with a non-contributory pension, with the university contributing 7% as the basic entry level pension.

    "In addition, the university will contribute up to a further 3% dependent on how much the individual wishes to save for their own pension. These changes have not been taken lightly."

    A teenager's been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Stafford on Friday evening.

    Police believe the attack took place around the area of Pennycrofts Court flats, Corporation Street, at about 17:30.

    The 22-year-old man was taken to the County Hospital with multiple stab wounds but had to be flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital by air ambulance.

    A 17-year-old boy from Wolverhampton has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

    A "huge" manhunt is still under way to find a man wanted over the double murder of a mother and daughter from Solihull.

    Janbaz Tarin is wanted over the deaths of his former partner Raneem Oudeh and her mother Khaola Saleem.

    Officers were called to Northdown Road in the early hours of Monday morning where the pair were found with serious stab wounds.

    The were confirmed dead at the scene outside Khaoloas's house.

    West Midlands Police said officers will remain as a visible presence in the area over the coming days to reassure the local community.
