A draw away to third-placed Sussex next week would clinch a return to the top flight, and they still have a home match against second-placed Kent to follow that.

Patel says having extra time to recover before the trip to Hove is invaluable.

We've earned ourselves a day off and that's what matters, I think our guys need one. They've put in a tough shift. Those two games will take care of themselves - we've just got to keep rocking up with the right attitude and keep putting in the right efforts. Cricket is a funny game and unless you put in the hard work you can't expect to take anything out.
