Angels co-founder Glen Perkins said people who were not feeling well "would be brought to a safe place".

He said Street Angels was a Christian-based group but welcomed volunteers from all backgrounds.

"It's about people who care about other people," he said.

The organisation hopes to "roll out" the scheme to every town in Shropshire, with provision in Oswestry by Christmas.

    BBC Shropshire

Plans to remove 3.5m tonnes of sand and gravel from a site in Shipley near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, will go before councillors today.

Wolverhampton-based JPE Holdings has applied for the phased extraction over a 14-year period on land off Bridgnorth Road, as its nearby quarry will cease production later this year.

Opposition groups are concerned about the impact on water levels, the environment and the increased large vehicle traffic on the local roads.

He is back at the Rio course this month as part of a 10-strong team for the Canoe Slalom World Championships - and says he has now overcome self-doubt.

"I had to build again from zero," Clarke told BBC Sport.

The Englishman said he had started to wonder whether Rio 2016 had been a "one-off performance", but added that he was not training enough when he first got back on the water.
