    NHS bosses are being forced to look for a new location for patient care after "increased traces" of legionella bacteria were discovered.

    The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) runs a service for people who are fit enough to leave beds at acute hospitals, but need more rehabilitation before being allowed home.

    The trust operated it at Brighton House in Silverdale, Staffordshire, until, it said, bacteria was found in routine checks in August.

    No staff or patients were infected, the trust said, adding the service was switched to Bradwell Hospital, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

    However, it said as that site would soon be needed by Royal Stoke University Hospital to cope with winter pressures, a new location was being sought.

    Every police car in Cheshire is going to be given a new piece of equipment - a teddy bear., external

    The toys are being knitted by volunteers in the county and are the brainchild of one of the force's special constables, Sgt Sarah Johns.

    She says she got the idea while watching officers on TV comforting young survivors of the Ariana Grande concert bombing in May 2017.

    The scheme is called Pandas4Pandas.

    Plans to build a 24-storey tower of student accommodation in Birmingham city centre have been revealed.

    The development, for the corner of Lancaster Street and Lawson Street, would provide 549 rooms, predominately for those who attend Aston University and Birmingham City University.

    The main tower would sit alongside eight-storey buildings, while the ground floor of the complex would include a cafe, fitness centre and study spaces.

    The site is currently occupied by a fast food restaurant, offices and warehouses.

    Five-a-side football operator Powerleague is set to close three sites in the West Midlands after a rescue plan was voted through by creditors and shareholders.

    More than 100 jobs are set to be lost at the troubled company which is looking to shut 13 sites including ones in Shrewsbury, Halesowen and Yardley, Birmingham.

    A business park has been evacuated after a large fire broke out at a plastics company.

    Crews were called to the scene at Goldicote Business Park, between Stratford-upon-Avon and Ettington, shortly before 13:30.

    Residents in the area are being warned to keep windows closed and motorists told to avoid the area.

    A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews are taking firefighting action and the blaze is quickly coming under control.

    "This is a large-scale incident and there is smoke in the surrounding area, currently moving in a north easterly direction towards Wellesbourne and Loxley."

    People are being warned to avoid the area around a large fire at a south Warwickshire plastics company.

    Warwickshire Police says it is assisting at the scene.

    The fire service says it has ten appliances at JFC Plastics at Goldicote Business Park, near Stratford-upon-Avon.
