A Stoke-on-Trent Labour MP says he'd be willing to back Theresa May's plans on Brexit and his party should work with the government to get it right.
The Labour leadership's strategy is to vote against the Brexit deal in the hope a general election will follow.
In an interview for the World at One on Radio 4, Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central, Gareth Snell, warned his party not to be the "midwife" of a no-deal Brexit.
Quote MessageMy constituents with their 75% voting to leave were very clear, but at the same time they don't want no deal Brexit, they want to leave the European Union but with the protections from a proper arrangement that allows us to continue and trade and maintain rights for workers and consumers."

A small, gas-powered power station could be built on the outskirts of Oswestry, to produce electricity at times of high demand.
An application to build one on farmland between Whittington Road and the A5 has been made to Shropshire Council by Gloucestershire-based Enso Energy.
The plans include 30 generators, two cabins, and an electricity substation. The company said it could help prevent blackouts.
A decision from Shropshire Council is expected by the end of the year.
Quote MessageWhen required by the National Grid, the facility will be turned on remotely, the gas combusted and the combustion gas would spin a generator to generate up to 30MW electricity which is exported to the local distribution network.”

An MP is calling for reforms to protect people working in the so-called "gig" economy.
Instead of a regular wage, workers get paid for the "gigs" they do, such as a food delivery or a car journey.
In recent weeks there have been protests including those by Uber drivers in Birmingham, demanding higher rates of pay and better conditions.
Uber says it's looking to make improvements to ensure drivers have the best possible experience and make the most of their time while driving.
Quote MessageWe think we need a change of status to make sure that the tech platforms can't exploit people, claim that they're self-employed workers when really they're just oppressed workers. We want to give greater rights to trade unions to organise and we want to enshrine a £10-an-hour living wage for all workers."
Tom Watson, West Bromwich East MP
