    Town councillors in Broseley have voted to explore the option of leaving the control of Shropshire Council and joining Telford and Wrekin Council instead.

    The idea was put forward by the town's mayor, Michael Burton, because he was angry about the amount of funding the town receives from Shropshire Council.

    The town council now plans to write to the two unitary authorities, to see how the move might happen.

    The leader of Telford and Wrekin Council jokingly described the move as "Broexit".

    Nelson Agho has become Port Vale's youngest ever player to represent the club.

    The academy player is aged 15 and 262 days and replaced Idris Kanu in the 84th minute of their Football League trophy win at Walsall.

    Scott Quigley and Danny Pugh scored the goals for Port Vale at the Banks's stadium, with Connor Johnson getting the goal for the Saddlers.

    It's the final day to have your day on what Coventry's new flag should look like.

    BBC Coventry and Warwickshire has shortlisted six designs and it's inviting people to vote for their favourite, with the poll closing at midday today.

    The designs include popular images associated with the city, such as the elephant and Lady Godiva, along with triangles representing the famous church spires and a phoenix rising from the flames.

    Stroke patients and people with hip fractures could go back to being treated at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch to help ease pressure on accident and emergency in Worcester.

    In a statement, the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said it had developed a winter plan which aimed to make the best use of all available hospital and community services.

    A derelict pub in Walsall could be demolished after nearly 1,700 people signed a petition calling for it to be knocked down.

    People living near The Brown Jug, in Short Heath, say it has become a magnet for fly-tipping and vandalism over the last five years.

    Walsall Council has agreed to take action, which could involve using its compulsory purchase powers to take charge of it.

    The One Show's Rickshaw Challenge in aid of Children in Need - will be peddling through the West Midlands today.

    The team of six young people, all of whom have been supported by BBC Children in Need-funded projects, are joined by presenter Matt Baker on the eight-day challenge.

    The route takes them through Malvern, past Cleobury Mortimer and Bridgnorth to Ironbridge.

    Nursery leaders say they're worried that delays over future funding could lead to widespread closures.

    A group of nursery heads from Birmingham met with the children's minister and Stratford-upon-Avon MP, Nadhim Zahawi, yesterday.

    In 2016, the government agreed to £59m of extra funding for nursery schools across the country, but that money is due to end in a year's time.

  8. HS2 denies tunnel vibration claimspublished at 07:44 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

    The company behind the planned HS2 high-speed rail line says people in Crewe shouldn't be able to feel vibrations from trains passing underneath the town.

    An official report last month warned that residents would be able to feel and hear it as it goes through a tunnel under the West Coast Main Line.

    Caretaker manager Danny Coyne says he won't be applying for the Shrewsbury Town job, despite leading the team to victory last night.

    It was their first match since the sacking of John Askey and they beat Crewe 2-1 in the Checkatrade Trophy.

    Coyne has been told he will be holding the reins while the club looks for a replacement for Askey, but he insists he's quite happy as Shrewsbury's goalkeeping coach.

  11. More than 200 families raise maternity concernspublished at 07:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

    The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust has said 215 families have now come forward, claiming they were failed by poor maternity care between 1998 and 2017.

    Of those families, 91 had gone directly to the hospitals with their concerns, with 36 of them saying their child had died and 22 alleging permanent harm as a result of trust mistakes.

    The hospital trust, which was placed into special measures last week because of concerns about current care, said it was co-operating with an NHS Improvement investigation into its maternity care.
