    A hospital trust has maintained its overall "good" rating after a recent inspection by the health watchdog.

    It is the first report published on the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust since it merged with the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in April 2018.

    The trust was given an "outstanding" rating by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) for being well led.

    However, some areas within the trust's four hospitals require improvement.

    A body modification artist from Wolverhampton will be sentenced next month after admitting causing grievous bodily harm to three customers by carrying out a tongue-splitting procedure and removing an ear and a nipple.

    Brendan McCarthy, also known as Dr Evil, carried out consensual procedures without using anaesthetic.

    A funeral has been held today for a Moseley man who became well known for walking everywhere with no shoes.

    Wiliam Peter McKenzie was better known as Pete the Feet and a funeral procession passed through the village on the way to a humanist service.

    Sam Vokes says the Stoke City players are adjusting to the change in formation brought in by new manager Nathan Jones and "it's important that we concentrate when we're in training".

    The team is now playing with a diamond formation - the same formation Jones used with some success at Luton Town - and Vokes said he could see the positives in the system.

    Vokes also said he thought they had a lot of quality in midfield, adding: "We need to dominate games with it."

    Worcester city councillors could each get an extra £137 a year if they approve the recommendations of an independent pay review.

    On top of that, there would be extra payments for those in senior positions, such as £343 a year for the leader of the council and £274 for the deputy leader.

    Last year councillors chose to ignore the findings of the pay review which had recommended their basic allowances should rise by £50.

    The city council meets in full next Tuesday when it will vote on the new allowance recommendations.

    Pele has said his goodbye to Gordon Banks, describing him as a "kind and warm man who gave so much to people".

    He recalled that incredible save in the 1970 World Cup when he said he was denied a certain goal by a "kind of blue phantom" and he described Banks as "a goalkeeper with magic".
