    A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Dudley this afternoon.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says it was called to the junction of Park Road and Baptist End Road at 15:07 and took her to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

    Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says while he was pleased with the 6-1 win over Crawley his side need to grind out more one-goal wins.

    The six goals were the first his team have scored since February and Artell said narrow victories will be the difference between making the playoffs or missing out.

    A primary school has objected to an application from nearby shop to get an alcohol licence because it's had problems with parents turning up drunk.

    Cotteridge Primary School said there had been a "small number" of these incidents and headteacher Jonathan Leonard said "easy, quick access to alcohol to me is completely inappropriate in our setting.”

    The school objected to a licensing application by Eden Manna, which sells general convenience goods and African food, but Birmingham City Councillors granted it permission to sell alcohol, on the condition it must not be sold before 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

    Eden Manna’s licensing representative, argued that the school’s current issue with parents bore no relation to the shop while stating there would be good quality CCTV installed to improve crime prevention in the area.

    Witnesses are wanted to a robbery on a train between Walsall and Birmingham earlier this month.

    British Transport Police says the victim, a man in his 30s, got on the train at Walsall and, after an argument with two men, was chased through the train, attacked and robbed.

    All three men got off at Birmingham New Street.

    A Hereford 80s nightclub has been allowed to stay open for longer after agreeing conditions with West Mercia Police.

    Rubix will now be able to admit people until 02:30, instead of the current 01:00, and will also be allowed to have an outside bar in the smoking area.

    A business owner has thanked the fire service for helping him provide meals to schools across Birmingham yesterday.

    Robinson’s Catering supplies 2,500 meals every day but is based on the same estate where a fire destroyed a garden furniture factory.

    The fire at Dreams Living, in Hay Hall Road, Tyseley, broke out yesterday morning and about 100 firefighters were there at its height. The cause was accidental, the fire service said.

    A thief who tried to grab a woman's handbag ended up pulling over a pushchair and tipping a child onto the floor.

    The thief grabbed the handbag as the woman walked along High Street in Hadley, Telford, yesterday evening and because it was wrapped around the pushchair he pulled it over.

    Neither were badly hurt but West Mercia Police said it was very upsetting for them and the robber got away with a mobile phone, keys and a small amount of cash.

    An assessment of the terrorist threat in Shropshire has concluded it is most likely to to be the victim of an extreme-right group or a lone wolf terrorist.

    Andrew Gough of the Shropshire Safer Communities Group said such assessments are carried out every month. West Mercia Police has warned a community which thinks it will "never happen here" benefits only the criminal, terrorist and extremist alike.

    With river levels starting to fall, the temporary flood barriers in Ironbridge will be dismantled this afternoon.

    But the Environment Agency is warning the River Severn is likely to remain high for some time and these photos were taken a bit further downstream, in Bridgnorth, earlier.

    The Environment Agency has said today water levels on the River Severn are four and half times higher than normal, the highest in three years.

    Warnings remain on the Severn for Bridgnorth, Hampton Loade and Highley, Ironbridge and Jackfield and the Showground and the Quarry at Shrewsbury.

    Alerts are in place for Kempsey Village, the Lugg south of Leominster, the Severn in Worcestershire and the Vyrnwy Confluence.
