    A Shropshire primary school which is closing its doors because of a funding shortage may re-open at a future date, the organisation running it has revealed.

    In January, the Shropshire Hills Federation is transferring the 38 pupils who go to Stiperstones School to its other sites, either in Norbury or Chirbury, but it insists this isn't necessarily the end.

    Heather Kidd, who is a member of the federation, said it was making the move because there were no pupils expected to start at the school in September 2020, leading to a funding shortfall.

    But she said numbers were expected to improve in the future and if that happened, the school "would be up and running again".

    Wellington Market in Shropshire has been put up for sale.

    It includes the indoor and outdoor markets and 120 pitches, along with homes attached to the building.

    The owner, Wellington Market Company, says it can trace its history back to 1244, when the site was established by Royal Charter.

    In recent years, the business expanded to buy a number of other markets around the country.

    A number of gull-proof litter bins could be set up in Worcester city centre after a trial last summer.

    They'd cost the city council £144,000. Councillors will decide today whether to go ahead with buying 16, and then another 12 if they prove successful.

    Solar powered bins

    The solar-panelled bins, which also alert council staff when they are full, are designed to prevent gulls from scavenging food.

    They can compact litter to allow them to hold eight times more rubbish.

    A closed sign has gone up at the Birmingham branch of Jamie's Italian after the celebrity chef's restaurant group went into administration today.

    It's appointed KPMG as administrators, with a total of 25 restaurants affected by the move and 1,300 jobs at risk.

    Jamie Oliver's said: "I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone affected."

    His chain is the latest victim of a tough trading environment on the UK High Street, with one analyst telling the BBC the brand had failed to keep up with changing trends.

    A man has been charged over a crash in which three police cars were hit, injuring five officers.

    He is accused of aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and possession of cannabis in connection with the collision on Salwarp Road, Droitwich, on Friday.

    The officers suffered minor injuries.

    Two police officers have been hurt after chasing a gang who tried to ram-raid a cash machine early this morning.

    West Midlands Police said officers were responding to reports of a burglary at a building society on Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull, just after midnight.

    Local councillor Mark Parker tweeted that the Nationwide branch , externalhad been targeted.

    Two vans and a car were used to ram the building but offenders drove off without the ATM.

    The force said when police pursued them, the vehicles stopped and a man got out of one and threw bricks at officers' car, smashing its windscreen.

    One of the vans then rammed the police car, leaving officers with minor injuries as the gang made off.
