    The father of cyclist Marianne Vos was invited on the podium in Warwick this morning before the start of the stage.

    The 2014 champion was forced to retire from the race after a crash during Wednesday's stage of the race.

    There are 82 riders taking part in today's Stage Four of the Women's Tour, riding the 158.9KM route.

    The first 6.9km is neutral, which allows the riders a short period to warm up before the race starts proper.

    Almost a dozen roads are shut in south Cheshire this morning due to flooding.

    Cheshire East Council said, external they're mostly in Crewe and Nantwich and staff are working to clear them, including getting help from local farmers.

    Chester Zoo has helped rescue thousands of critically endangered snails from Bermuda and released them back into the wild.

    The greater Bermuda land snail was thought to have disappeared for many years until an empty shell turned up in the territory's capital city, Hamilton.

    Live snails were then found among litter in a nearby alleyway.

    Some were flown to the zoo for a unique breeding programme, and now 4,000 snails have been taken back to the island and released.

    Flooding's expected in large parts of the West Midlands today after heavy rain overnight added to the week's wet weather.

    The Environment Agency said much of the region had up to 30mm of rain last night with 50mm in Solihull. , external

    It has nine flood warnings in place, external, meaning flooding is expected, in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Birmingham, Warwickshire and Cheshire.

    They include the River Cole at Coleshill, the Arrow and Alne near Alcester, Warwickshire, and the River Weaver in Nantwich, Cheshire.

    There are also more than 20 flood alerts, external, meaning flooding in possible, across the West Midlands including in Worcester and near Hereford.

    Trains are expected to be disrupted all day between Worcestershire and Warwickshire today because of flooding.

    National Rail Enquiries said heavy rain's flooded the tracks between Whitlocks End, near Solihull, and Stratford-upon-Avon. , external

    It said trains can't run southbound at the moment towards Stratford-upon-Avon.

    It's affecting services from Worcester Shrub Hill/Stourbridge Junction and Kidderminster/Birmingham Snow Hill.

    A nurse arrested in an investigation into the suspected murder of babies at Countess of Chester Hospital has been released on bail.

    Lucy Letby was held on suspicion of murdering eight babies and the attempted murder of another nine.

    She was first arrested in July last year over the deaths of infants between 2015 and 2016.

    Cheshire Police are also investigating 16 non-fatal collapses at the neonatal unit during the same period of March 2015 to July 2016.

    Ms Letby, originally from Hereford, has been bailed pending further inquiries, the force said.

  19. Women's Tour: The routepublished at 09:24 British Summer Time 13 June 2019

    The Women's Tour is due to start in Warwick at 10:30, passing through Kenilworth and Warwick University arriving in Meriden at about 11:15.

    The cyclists cross north Warwickshire through Corley and Fillongley, then on to Nuneaton and Bedworth through Bedworth Heath, Bedworth and Bulkington.

    The race has two designated Queen of the Mountains climbs, the first will be at Edge Hill, just on the outskirts of Arlescote, which is expected to be at about 14:00.

    As the competitors approach the stage finish they will enter Burton Dassett for the first time at approximately 13:45 with the final climb ending at about 15:00.
