    Managers of an indoor skate park in Stoke-on-Trent say they urgently need to find a sponsor to try to stop them from going out of business.

    The not-for-profit Unit 1 Park Works has been operating on Ogden Road for the last four years and bosses say they regularly have up to 40 youngsters skating there.

    But they said the owners of the building want to "dramatically" increase the rent from £625 to a total "which will be impossible for us to afford, external".

    Manager Jess Siegertsz told BBC Radio Stoke it needs financial help from local firms if it is to survive.

    There will be a number of motorway closures in the West Midlands tonight, to allow roadworks to be carried out.

    Highways England said the closures would start at 21:00 and finish at 06:00 tomorrow and will affect:

    • The M6 northbound between junctions 13 and 14
    • The M6 southbound between junctions 4 and 2
    • The M6 northbound between junctions 5 and 6

    And there will be another closure, beginning at 20:00 and finishing at 06:00 tomorrow, affecting the M5 between junctions 2 and 1.

    The increase in the number of visitors to Shropshire's libraries comes as Shropshire Council is considering making further changes to the way they're run.

    Two years ago, the local authority announced a five-year plan, which grouped library services into three tiers, based on their size, but it now says a "refreshed strategy" is needed, "following a period of significant change".

    People are being asked what they think the priorities should be , externalfor the library service, with the consultation period due to end on 8 November.

    Liberal Democrat councillor Andy Boddington has previously said he feared it could spell the end of the mobile library service.

    The council said the increase in visitor numbers, up by 15,000 when comparing the first quarter of this year with the first quarter of last year, are partly explained by the launch of new e-book services.

    The Unite union rep at Jaguar Land Rover said the government doesn't appreciate the impact of a no-deal Brexit on manufacturing.

    Unite's Mick Graham and other union leaders are meeting cabinet minister Michael Gove today, who is in charge of no-deal preparations, to set out their concerns.

    "I just don't recognise the rosy glow that Mr Gove and other ministers are trying to put on their Brexit strategy," Mr Graham said.

    He said JLR relied "on frictionless trade and open customs arrangements to ensure the just in time delivery of the 20 million components our plants consume every day".

    JLR Chief Executive Ralph Speth has previously described the prospect of a cliff-edge break with the European Union as "horrifying".

    The prime minister's official spokesman said negotiations with the EU were far from over.

    Coventry could go down the same leafy path as Shropshire and commit to planting a tree for every person in its council area.

    City councillors will be asked to vote on the proposal when they meet next Tuesday.

    The local authority says if the plans are approved, then funding for the 360,000 trees would have to be found and it will look to work with residents, schools and developers to find suitable land.

    Last month Shropshire Council voted to plant more than 300,000 trees between now and 2050.

    A 17-year-old has been charged murder after a stabbing in Coventry.

    West Midlands Police said a second male, arrested on suspicion of murder, also aged 17, has been released on police bail, while enquiries continue.

    A 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, who were previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, were also released along with a 41-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

    The government's pledged to hire an extra 20,000 by 2022 and today allocated 366 out of the first year of 6,000 to the West Midlands force.

    A teenage girl is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was attacked at a house in Nantwich.

    Cheshire Police says a 16-year-old girl from Merseyside has been arrested in relation to the investigation.

    A 39-year-old man from Nantwich was earlier also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released on conditional bail.

    A suspected arson attack at a bus depot has caused damage estimated at £150,000, police have said.

    West Midlands Police has launched an investigation , externalinto the blaze involving 15 vehicles at the Tipton Road depot in Tividale, Sandwell, last night.

    About 20 firefighters battled the fire and West Midlands Fire Service said the buses had been badly damaged.

    Diamond Buses has confirmed its vehicles were damaged although it says they were all parked up to be sold and not part of their daily operations.

    The firm adds it's the second arson attack at the depot this year after four buses were damaged in January - causing damage put at more than £200,000.
