    A yellow warning for fog is in place for the West Midlands from 04:00 until 11:00 on Tuesday.

    A National Express bus has been named after an 11-year-old transport fan from Dudley.

    Alex Boughey from Halesowen unveiled the plaque at the transport company's Pensnett garage at the weekend.

    Alex has autism and learning difficulties and recently suffered a loss in the family, said the company.

    Bus 6942 will now carry his name, it said.

    Anglo-Saxon coins of a particular period have been found for the first time in north Shropshire, according to one of the men who helped discover them.

    Chris Langston, who runs Metal Detecting Holidays near Oswestry, said they were found earlier this month by a man from Texas who was visiting the area. , external

    He told BBC Shropshire they date back to the reign of Edward the Confessor, from 1042-66, and called it a "very rare find" for the county.

    He added: "The nearest single coin of Edward the Confessor was found in say Stafford and one up near Chester."

    The coins will now be assessed by Shropshire's Finds Liaison officer.

    A mother who had nude pictures and her address posted on sex websites by her partner, says she was "disgusted" by what she feels is his lenient punishment.

    Builder Darren Rowe, 49, took secret images and spread intimate content without her knowledge using a phone connected to a customer's wifi, a West Midlands Police probe found.

    Rowe, from Rowley Regis, admitted two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress and was given a 12-month jail term, which was suspended for two years.

    Mother-of-three Sharon, who wanted to protect her full identity, said she felt destroyed by a person she had worshipped.

    "You don't expect the man that you love, who says he loves you, to try and destroy you," she said.

    The family of a five-year-old boy with leukaemia has thanked fundraisers as he's set off to Singapore for further treatment.

    Last month Oscar Saxelby-Lee, from Worcester, underwent a second stem cell treatment in a bid to beat his cancer, but his parents said it hadn't worked as hoped.

    They are now on their way to Singapore for treatment not available on the NHS, after a crowdfunding drive helped them to raise £500,000 to pay for it.

    On their Facebook page,, external they posted they were leaving: "Hearts are in our mouths, tears flowing and emotions higher than ever..... but we are doing this!"

    People and businesses repeatedly affected by flooding along the River Severn could be given more help in the future under a new partnership.

    The River Severn Partnership has been formed from councils and environment teams, including Shropshire Council and the Environment Agency, with the aim of better monitoring and management of the waterway.

    It's also expected to test the water, see how town planning can work around it and reduce the "economic blight" of repeat flooding.

    This afternoon, Shropshire Council's cabinet will be asked to sign off the launch of the group , externaland dedicate £500,000 of funding towards it.

    In the past few days, heavy rain saw the River Severn rise enough to see flood barriers deployed in Shrewsbury and Ironbridge.

    Hundreds of people took part in a sleep-out at Wolves' Molineux Stadium on Friday night to raise money for a homeless charity.

    Some of the club's top players welcomed those staying the night at the ground.

    More than £30,000 was raised for charity Good Shepherd Ministry, to help "some of the most vulnerable people in the city".

    A woman had to climb out of the boot of her car after it ended up on its side in a hedge this morning.

    Staffordshire Police described it , externalas a "very lucky escape" after the vehicle came off the road on the B4176, Swindon, near Wombourne.

    The woman, aged in her 20s, was walking around when paramedics arrived and the ambulance service said she was taken to Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley, as a precaution.

  16. Tributes paid to 'wonderful' motorsport backerpublished at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2019

    Tributes have been paid to a "wonderful well-respected gentleman," who has died after being hit by a recovery vehicle at a stock car racing event.

    Colin North, 60, who worked for hardware firm Teng Tools, was struck by the vehicle at Birmingham Wheels Raceway on Saturday.

    Posts on the company's Facebook site described him as "a lovely man with a passion for racing and gave a lot to various levels of the sport, expecting nothing in return."

    Another added: "there is not enough words what you have done for our lovely speedway sport."

    People at the event on Saturday had been left "deeply shocked," another said.

  17. Pedestrian hit by car seriously injuredpublished at 11:46 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2019

    A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Solihull.

    The 81-year-old man was struck on Stratford Road, Shirley at about 18:45 on Saturday.

    The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with the investigation, said West Midlands Police.

    Officers are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
