    A number of flood warnings are being downgraded to flood alerts and river levels have peaked in some places, but there's still a lot of water around.

    Here are two BBC Weather Watcher photos from Shropshire, showing a road near Coreley in the south of the county and the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

  2. RSC performances to go aheadpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2019

    Tonight's performances at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon will to ahead "at present" the Royal Shakespeare Company has said.

    Waterside in the town has been closed for the deployment of flood barriers close to the theatre.

    The River Avon is expected to reach its peak at about 19:30, said the Environment Agency.

    Theatre goers who can't make it due to flooding should contact the box office to arrange refunds or exchanges, the Royal Shakespeare Company said.

    It also advised people to allow extra time to get through the road closures.

    Trevor Reek, who is in his 70s, is one of those who had to be rescued by firefighters in Evesham.

    He was evacuated from his home by boat.

    "I couldn't get out on my own, I tried that earlier on and it is too deep for me to wade through, even with my waders on," he said.

    He said he packed some belongings and called for help.

  4. River levels to remain high into next weekpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2019

    River levels in Evesham are peaking around now, said the Environment Agency, but are expected to stay high into next week.

    The River Severn at Worcester may not peak well into Saturday it added.

    Properties have been flooded in the town with the fire service using boats to evacuate people from their homes.

    The Environment Agency's Dave Throup said water levels in the whole of south Worcestershire were going to be raised until the middle of next week.

    The flood defences installed today in Stratford-upon-Avon are temporary barriers which the Environment Agency has used elsewhere in the country.

    It will be the first time they're used in the town since being tested in 2017, during an exercise.

    The frame barriers are made up of rigid frames holding an impermeable membrane and use the weight of the floodwater itself to hold the barrier in place.

    The River Avon is expected to peak there at around 19:00.

    Evesham's community hospital has been closed to new admissions, because of flooding on surrounding roads.

    The Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust said the minor injuries unit was also closed and families were being told they can't visit, but the patients and staff inside are safe.

    It explained it was still possible to get in and out of the building, but with water levels expected to continue rising, it was taking the steps as a precaution.

  8. Boat used to help evacuate peoplepublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2019

    A boat has been used to help evacuate people from buildings in Evesham.

    Three people and an animal were helped at Morimers Quay earlier, the fire service said.

    Others were also helped from a nearby caravan park, it added.

    It's expected there will be further requests for help throughout the day.

    In summer in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Recreation Ground is a draw for picnics and fun, but not today, as the River Avon's burst its banks.

    The bus lane on Hagley Road West is closed between Beechwood Road and Galton Road due to damage caused by heavy rain.

    Midlands Today is reporting from Evesham this lunchtime, where river levels have quickly risen.

    Dave Throup, from the Environment Agency, said the River Avon was at its highest level since 2007 and a number of homes and businesses had been flooded.

    The River Teme in Leintwardine is thought to have peaked now, external, at about 2.4m, but it's going to remain high over the weekend, the Environment Agency has said.

    It has affected a number of properties, including this pub, as well as the A4113.

  14. Rail disruption expected until Saturday afternoonpublished at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2019

    The flooded rail lines at Evesham are now set to disrupt services until 12:00 on Saturday, said National Rail Enquiries.

    The line has been closed between Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcester Shrub Hill.

    Train services between London Paddington, Worcester Shrub Hill, Great Malvern and Hereford will be either terminated at Oxford or divert between Reading and Worcester Shrub Hill.

    Some bus replacement services are running.

  15. 'Belt and braces' barriers being put up in Stratfordpublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2019

    It will take all day for staff to erect flood defences along Stratford-upon-Avon's Waterside, said the Environment Agency.

    It's the first time they've needed to deploy the barriers in the town.

    Flood risk manager Roy Stokes said the decision hadn't been taken lightly.

    "It's great to see some of the shops and restaurants have got their own barriers up," he said, "so just belt and braces we're coming along today to put our barriers up.

    "The peak could push some water over the bank and down on to the road here, so it's a bit more security for the folks here.

    "It's very disruptive, we don't want to do stuff unless we really have to, but you'll appreciate that you can't just pop this stuff up in an hour, this takes nearly a day to put up."

    A number of Park Runs have been cancelled tomorrow, because of flooding.

    The weekly 5km runs, which are open to anyone, won't be taking place in Evesham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Churchfields in Worcestershire and Worcester Pitchcroft.

    It seems drivers aren't heeding warnings not to drive through floodwater, with many stranded motorists having to be rescued.

    Among them is a taxi driver trying to get through Wigmore Lane in West Bromwich, whose vehicle is now stuck.
