    A drug dealer has been jailed after a stash of cocaine, with an estimated street value of £280,000, was found concealed in a secret compartment of his car.

    Ten 1kg blocks of cocaine were found after officers monitored Mohammed Shazad making repeated suspicious visits to a Nissan Qasqai parked in Middlemore Road, Smethwick, said West Midlands Police.

    The 37-year-old from Handsworth was sentenced to nine years and 10 months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday, after admitting conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

    Det Insp Michelle Keidron said: “He was dealing drugs on a significant scale and, no doubt, creating great harm in communities affected by his criminality."

    "Untrue and harmful" allegations had been made about teaching at Birmingham's Anderton Park School, a High Court judge has said.

    Claims includes the school had a "paedophile agenda" and staff were "teaching children how to masturbate".

    "None of this is true," Mr Justice Warby said as he handed down a ban on protests at the school.

    "None of the defendants have suggested it was true and the council has proved it is not true."

    The lessons had been "misrepresented by parents," he said, adding the school does not promote homosexuality and seeks to weave the language of equality into everyday school life.

    A judge's ruling, in favour of an exclusion zone to remain around a Birmingham school, makes it "abundantly clear the school gate is no place to hold a protest," a teaching union has said.

    A High Court judgement means LGBT teaching protests cannot resume outside Anderton Park Primary School.

    The National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) said the protests had been "widely and rightly condemned" and should now be brought to an end.

    Labour candidate for Birmingham Yardley Jess Phillips has responded to the condemnation of Jeremy Corbyn by the Chief Rabbi by saying the only way to respond is to apologise.

    In the Times, Ephraim Mirvis has strongly criticised Labour, claiming the party is not doing enough to root out anti-Jewish racism - and asked people to "vote with their conscience" in the general election.

    A permanent exclusion zone is needed around a school due to ongoing protests against teaching of LGBT relationships, a judge has ruled.

    A temporary injunction against protests outside the school gates at Anderton Primary School in Birmingham, was granted in June.

    Now anti-LGBT equality teaching protests have been permanently banned from outside the school, a judge at the High Court in Birmingham has ruled.

    Warwickshire host Somerset in the opening round of the 2020 County Championship, according to fixtures just announced.

    In Division Two Worcestershire will take on Middlesex.

    In a season where the inaugural 100-ball competition, The Hundred, launches on 17 July, the T20 Blast group stage will be played from 28 May to 12 July.

    With a huge amount of limited-overs cricket and The Hundred scheduled in mid-summer, the County Championship takes a six-week break at the start of July and resumes on 23 August.

    A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in a Warwickshire retail park.

    The pedestrian in her 70s was struck at 17:10 GMT in Elliot's Field retail park, Rugby, on Friday, police said.

    Officers are asking any witnesses to come forward.

    Taxi fares could be about to rise for the first time in seven years in Lichfield.

    The district council says, external they haven't been touched since 2012 and now local taxi firms are pushing for an increase in the maximum fare Hackney carriage drivers can charge.

    Under the plans, normal fares would rise 20p to £3.80 for the first mile and then 20p for each subsequent 161m (176yds).

    Out-of-hours fares would also rise along with the soiling charge and the council's suggesting introducing a waiting charge at £15 an hour.

    People have until 12 December to have their say.

    There are still nine miles of queuing traffic on the M6 in Staffordshire after a lorry shed its load of laundry detergent.

    The spill was in "several places" said Highways England, "but it doesn't appear to have gone into the tarmac itself," it added.

    A sweeper was used to pick it up off the surface, said James Hawkes from the agency.

    All lanes have just reopened.

    A judgement is expected on whether an injunction, preventing protesters from demonstrating outside a Birmingham school, should be widened.

    In June the High Court granted an interim injunction against demonstrations outside the gates of Anderton Primary School in Birmingham.

    The school has been at the focus of a campaign against LGBT teaching, led by some parents and activists who say it is in conflict with their "religious beliefs and family values".

    A five-day hearing held last month saw the city council seek a permanent order to protect the school and extend the existing ban on protests to further areas of land nearby.

    Ex-Wolves footballers Carl Ikeme, Karl Henry and Matt Murray were among stars at the Molineux Sleepout event on 15 November.

    Organisers said they would keep fundraising until 6 December.

    Showcase has reversed its decision to pull the film Blue Story.

    The cinema chain stopped showing the film over the weekend, but reinstated screenings on Monday night after "careful consideration and discussions with the distributor".

    "We have come up with a plan to reinstate screenings of the film supported with increased security protocols and will be doing so from this evening," it said.

    Vue has said it will not be showing the film after multiple "significant incidents".

    Five teenagers, including a 13-year-old girl, were arrested in connection with at the Star City entertainment complex in Birmingham, which police said involved up to 100 young people on Saturday night.
