    A broken down freight train between Leamington Spa and Coventry is causing some services to be diverted and National Rail said the disruption could continue until 14:00.

    It said passengers were being diverted via Solihull and some trains weren't calling at Leamington Spa.

    A full government inquiry is being demanded by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) into the online publication of the addresses of more than 1,000 New Year Honours recipients.

    Details of celebrities, senior police officers and politicians were uploaded to an official website on Friday evening and removed on Saturday.

    Most of the entries in the spreadsheet included full addresses - including house numbers and postcodes.

    The Cabinet Office said the document was visible for about an hour. It has apologised and says it is investigating.

    David Jamieson, the West Midlands PCC, labelled it a "disgraceful error" and he wants an inquiry.

    "[It] could cost them a lot in fines, money that we could better use policing our streets than paying fines to the Information Commissioner," he added.

    Ollie Pope, Chris Woakes and Jack Leach were ruled out of the 107-run first-Test defeat in Centurion, while captain Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes spent time off the field.

    Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer missed both warm-up games, and Joe Denly and Mark Wood have also been ill.

    The second match of the four-Test series starts on Friday in Cape Town.

    Sibley, playing only his third Test, made four and 29 in the match.

    People have been posting messages of congratulations to some of the people in the West Midlands who were recognised in the Queen's New Year Honours list.

    Dr Jonathan Leach, from Bromsgrove, was appointed OBE for helping to provide mental health support for thousands of veterans.

    A car driver pulled over by the police for having a faulty rear light blamed an escaped hamster for chewing through a wire.

    West Mercia Police said officers had stopped the vehicle in Herefordshire and the man claimed the hamster, bought as a Christmas present for his son, had escaped from its box and eaten its way through the wiring loom which controls the lights.

    Liverpool are investigating an alleged incident between Wolves defender Jonny and a ball boy during the Reds' 1-0 win at Anfield on Sunday.

    The club are looking into claims he came into contact with the youngster while trying to retrieve a ball.

    In a statement to Press Association, Liverpool said: "The club will follow established protocols in terms of gathering the relevant information.

    "While that process takes place we will be making no further comment."

    Wolves are aware of the alleged incident, but are awaiting further feedback from Liverpool.

    Police said Caitlin Wright was last seen near Primark in Burton at about 11:30 yesterday and believe she may have travelled to Birmingham.

    Police have released two men who were arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man in Telford on Boxing Day.

    The 32-year-old died after being found unresponsive on High Street, in Dawley, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.

    Having already named 101 places last summer to benefit from their Future High Streets Fund, ministers said a further 20 areas would also get support and they've named 14 today.

    In this region, they are:

    • Staffordshire Moorlands - Cheadle
    • Birmingham - Stirchley
    • Coventry - Coventry City Centre
    • Sandwell - West Bromwich Town Centre

    The government said the support they'd each get would include "access to cutting-edge research", online training and use of local footfall data.

    A man's due in court charged with attempted murder after an 18-year-old was stabbed.

    The man was left with potentially life-changing injuries after the attack in St John Street in Wellington, Telford at 02:55 GMT on Friday.

    Mubasher Mehmood, 24, of Windsor Road, Wellington, has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon.

    He is due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court.

    Sadio Mane's controversial goal gave Liverpool a 1-0 win over Wolves.

    Anthony Taylor awarded the goal after a VAR check although Wolves' players complained Virgil van Dijk controlled the ball with his hand in the build-up.

    "We feel massively hard done by and I can't get my head around it. For me, it is not working," Coady said.

    "Some people are saying it gets the right decision, but we're the players on the pitch and it doesn't feel right to me.

    A short time later, a 16-year-old boy needed hospital treatment after shots were fired at him from a car.

    The force said shots were then fired at a house on Norwood Grove on Saturday night.

    The two men, aged 19 and 22, were arrested on Sunday morning on Corporation Street on suspicion of attempted murder and are still in custody.

    A police officer's been attacked in Wolverhampton.

    The officer was taken to hospital after being assaulted in an area near the ring road yesterday evening.

    His injuries are not thought to be serious.

    A section of the ring road was closed off while investgations took place.
