A "severe" blaze at a restaurant which saw a man rescued from a first-floor window is believed to have been started accidentally, the fire service says.
Crews were called to African Village in Perry Barr, Birmingham, yesterday afternoon.
Flames quickly spread to 80% of the Birchfield Road premises.
Forty firefighters battled the blaze at its height with crews remaining through the night. The flames are now extinguished.

League One Shrewsbury set up an FA Cup fourth-round home tie with Liverpool by upsetting Bristol City.
Defender Aaron Pierre scored the winner in the third-round replay, drilling into the bottom corner from 25 yards in the 89th minute.
Elsewhere in the FA Cup replays, Coventry comfortably beat Bristol Rovers.
Their result sets up an intriguing FA Cup fourth-round tie "at home" to landlords Birmingham City at St Andrew's.
In League One, Burton Albion beat MK Dons and in League Two, Port Vale lost 2-1 at Morecambe.

Work to knock down two tower blocks in Rugby is due to begin at the end of the month.
Rugby Borough Council has appointed Manchester-based company O'Gara to demolish the buildings at Biart Place.
The council decided to demolish the buildings in September 2018 after surveys revealed they were beyond economic repair.

Coventry Rugby's Henry Purdy is to join the Premiership side Bristol Bears with immediate effect.
The 25-year-old left Gloucester at the end of last season after scoring 16 tries in 49 Premiership appearances.
"We're light in the centre position, so it's good to be able to bring somebody of Henry's quality in," Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam said.
Purdy started Coventry's last match, a 19-17 defeat at Ampthill on Saturday.
We told you earlier about a restaurant fire in Birmingham to which 40 firefighters had been sent.
Emergency services have asked motorists to avoid the Birchfield Road area of Perry Barr where an operation at African Village is under way.
West Midlands Fire Service says crews are set to remain at the scene for hours to come.
