    Aston Villa have announced the loan signing of AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina until the end of the season.

    The former Liverpool goalkeeper will return to the Premier League after six years and is set to replace the injured Tom Heaton.

    The World Cup winner, 37, was in the stands as Villa lost 6-1 to Manchester Cityon Sunday.

    Villa needed to add to their goalkeeping options after England international Tom Heaton was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

    The government is to consider cutting air passenger duty on all domestic flights as part of a plan to save regional airline Flybe from collapse.

    Chancellor Sajid Javid is to meet later with the business and transport departments to discuss lowering the levy, the BBC's business editor says.

    The change would allow Flybe, which has a hub at Birmingham Airport, to defer a tax bill, implement a rescue plan, and secure more than 2,000 jobs.

    Flybe's network includes more than half of UK domestic flights outside London.

    Flash flooding is "inevitable" with heavy rain and winds forecast across the West Midlands later, the Environment Agency has said.

    HMV stores in Birmingham's Merry Hill shopping centre, Worcester are still under threat of closure unless new deals can be reached with its landlords.

    The company has confirmed that the Birmingham Bullring store will shut at the end of the month along with the Nuneaton branch.

    The HMV Vault,which opened in Birmingham in October last year, will not be affected, it said.

    Five stores across the country, which had been at risk of closing, will now remain open after new deals were secured.

    HMV was purchased in a rescue deal by music mogul Doug Putman in February 2019 after it crashed into administration for the second time in five years.

    Two cars were set alight close to University Hospital in Coventry on Monday, police say.

    Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson after the incident on Hall Lane just after 06:30.

    Officers believe there would have been witnesses as the road is used as a short cut to the hospital.

    Both remain in police custody, said West Midlands Police.

    An ambulance taking a seriously ill child to hospital was attacked at the weekend in Hereford, the ambulance service has said.

    West Mercia Police said a man blocked the ambulance at the junction of Blue School Street and Commercial Road, Hereford, on Saturday night.

    When the paramedics moved to drive around him, the man then punched the ambulance as it went past.

    The ambulance service said the vehicle then continued with the child and their family to hospital.

    The NHS has made it harder to give blood in Shropshire, according to a donor from the county.

    Rowan Swainson, 66, from Wellington, has given blood more than 40 times.

    But he told BBC News recent closures in the county had led to a rising cost in travel to blood centres, which was deterring many donors.

    "In cutting costs to the service, they have just passed on the costs to their most valuable asset, which is their volunteer donors," he said.

    "I know many donors that have stopped donating because of this."

    NHS Blood and Transplant admitted some sessions had closed making it harder to get to ones in rural areas but a new campaign for male donors was mainly aimed at towns and cities.
