    A van has had liquid poured over it before being set on fire while it was parked in the driveway of a house.

    The force said CCTV footage showed two people approaching the vehicle before running off after it was set on fire.

    West Mercia Police has launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in the face in Redditch.

    Officers say, external the attack happened at around 02:00 on Saturday 1 August.

    The victim, a man in his 40s, was walking from The Park Inn pub on Evesham Road towards Pool Bank with his son. He was left with injuries to the face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

    The offender is described as white, with short brown hair and was wearing a fluorescent orange jacket.

  5. Seven hurt as 4x4 'rolls over three times' on M5published at 12:13 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

    Seven people were hurt after their car towing a caravan overturned on the M5.

    They were on the motorway between J6 and J5, near Droitwich, Worcestershire, when they told the ambulance service the caravan started to sway and caused the car to spin and rollover. , external

    The vehicle's believed to have rolled up to three times before ending up on its roof.

    Paramedics said three men, a woman and three boys were all treated for injuries which weren't serious and taken to hospital.

    Three more bridges are going to be installed in the West Midlands later this year as part of HS2 building works.

    Over the weekend, a 2,750-tonne road bridge was inched into place across the M42 near Birmingham Airport and the NEC.

    The motorway was closed on Saturday for the operation but reopened ahead of schedule on Sunday morning.

    A van's smashed into a house in Birmingham this morning, ending up buried inside the home.

    The collision happened on a residential street in Northfield just after 07:00, the ambulance service said. , external

    It said a child who was inside the house was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.

    The woman driving the van managed to get out through the back door and was treated for minor injuries before being taken to hospital.

    Repairs to a burst pipe which flooded homes and caused disruption to water supplies are likely to take several days, Severn Trent said.

    The firm said a "handful of properties" were affected by flooding on Bristol Road South in Northfield, Birmingham, on Sunday morning.

    Severn Trent said the repair would be "a lengthy progress" and a lane closure on Bristol Road would remain in place while work is carried out.

    Severe thunderstorms are being forecast today but the Met Office says it's unclear where they will happen.

    A yellow alert is in place until midnight covering the whole of the West Midlands, external and the organisation is warnings there could be flooding.

    However it says "there is significant uncertainty in location and timing".

    A police officer who nearly died after being run over by car thieves has added his support for mandatory life sentences for anyone who kills a member of the emergency services.

    A campaign was launched by Lissie Harper, the widow of PC Andrew Harper who died in Berkshire in August 2019.

    PC Gaz Phillips, 43, was critically injured in Birmingham a few days earlier.

    He has made a remarkable recovery and on the first anniversary of the incident has just returned to work.
