  2. Ricketts wants more attacking playpublished at 10:25 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    BBC Radio Shropshire Sport

The Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts has said he's getting his players to think differently and be more attacking this season.

Last season, only bottom-of-the-table Bolton Wanderers scored fewer goals, but Ricketts said their performance in the 4-3 loss to Middlesbrough in the League Cup showed their intent.

Ricketts said their attacking play, however, mustn't come at the cost of conceding more goals and added "we don't want to be open as well".

  3. 'Urgent' warning over Covid-19 rates in Wolverhamptonpublished at 10:05 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

Health bosses in Wolverhampton have warned a sharp rise in coronavirus infection rates over the last few days has put the city at real risk of a local lockdown.

Latest data shows there were an average of 27.09 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 residents in Wolverhampton over the seven days up to 5 September, up from 12.6 cases per 100,000 for the 7 days to 29 August, the city council said.

However, the rate remains relatively low, compared with that in nearby Birmingham (69.1) and Solihull (52.2).

John Denley, Wolverhampton'sdirector of public health, said the rise in cases has been driven by a big increase in cases among 18 to 30-year-olds.

The council has already put a stop to all non-essential visiting at care homes, and has seen year groups at several schools have to self-isolate due to Covid-19, he said.

"While the vast majority of residents and businesses are continuing to do their bit – practising social distancing, good handwashing and wearing face coverings where required – others have relaxed far too much," Mr Denley added.

"If they don't start taking this seriously right now, they will put Wolverhampton at a very real risk of facing additional lockdown measures."
