Two arrested after shot fired at car in 'gang clash'published at 11:05 British Summer Time 14 September 2020
Two men have been arrested after a gun was fired at a car in what police believe to be a suspected "gang clash".
Armed officers were called to Watcombe Road, Coventry at 16:20 after reports of a man on an e-scooter was being pursued by a car.
Witnesses described seeing the Audi driver try to ram the scooter before he’s believed to have opened fire at the vehicle, said West Midlands Police.
The vehicle was later traced to a petrol station on the A45 where two men were detained.
Ch Insp Paul Minor from Coventry Police said: "The two men we’ve arrested have links to gang activity in the city and we suspect this was a clash between rival groups."
