West Midlands Police is receiving about 200 calls a day about non-compliance of Covid-19 restrictions, it's emerged.
Calls include breaches of the rule of six, or people not wearing face masks, and Waheed Saleem, deputy police crime commissioner, said "more and more" was being expected of officers as the pandemic continued.
With Bonfire Night and Halloween approaching, he urged people to stick to the national rules and local restrictions and called on people to "think twice" about trick or treating.
He said about £10m had been spent so far on "Covid-related costs" and although the force would receive some money back from government, "it won't cover all costs" and next year's budgets were now being assessed.

Edinburgh Woollen Mill, owner of the Peacocks and Jaeger clothing brands, says it plans to appoint administrators in an attempt to save the business.
The move puts 21,000 jobs at risk across the country amid what the company described as "brutal" trading conditions.
Peacocks alone operates about 40 stores and outlets across the West Midlands.
The stores will continue to trade as a review of the firm is carried out.

Parts of original 19th Century cobbled paving that used to form a Coventry street have been uncovered by workers.
Council contractors discovered the cobbles, from Smithford Street, below the current flooring in the Upper Precinct this week.
The cobbles are thought to date to between the 1850s to 1900. It is the second historical find hidden underneath Upper Precinct in recent months after workers stumbled upon a tiled mosaic from the old White Lion pub in March, which is believed to be around 150 years old.
Patricia Hetherton, cabinet member for city services, said it was really special to uncover "another piece of the city’s history – especially one that pre-dates the Blitz bombings".
The paving will move to a new, as of yet undecided, home.

Read MoreA warning has been issued to motorists after two incidents where men posing as police officers attempted to pull drivers over.
West Midlands Police said both cases happened on Tuesday, the first on Wolverhampton Road in Oldbury where a driver was pulled over by a man in a silver Mercedes van claiming to be a police officer and questioning him about his vehicle.
Half an hour later, a woman in Shirley reported a man in a smaller dark coloured car with blue flashing lights on the dashboard pulled her over, claimed to be an officer and questioned her about her speeding.
The force said both drivers asked the men for official identification, at which point the offenders drove off.
It has urged drivers to be vigilant and said genuine police officers would always show their ID, and anyone who was unsure could call the non-emergency 101 number to check their details.
