The Stoke City manager, Michael O'Neill, expects there to be more movement out of the club than in, before tomorrow's transfer deadline.
There are a number of players who have yet to feature in the league for his side this season and he has said the wage bill is too big for the Championship.
O'Neill said he was still looking for available players and "if the right opportunity came along" he might consider a last-minute signing, but they had to be "mindful of the surplus at the club."
Among those who could be on the way out is Jack Butland, according to BBC Sport.

Port Vale's chief executive said he was glad Football League clubs didn't have to vote on the Premier League's Project Big Picture plans.
A number of Premier League clubs, led by Liverpool and Manchester United had proposed reducing the size of the top division and scrapping the League Cup.
In return they were offering 25% of all future TV deals to the Football League, which would have been negotiated jointly, plus a £250m bail-out.
The proposals were voted down by rest of the Premier League clubs yesterday and instead there will be a £50m rescue package for League One and Two clubs.
Colin Garlick believes some Football League clubs would probably have supported the plans, just because they're desperate for money and said: "There are clubs that are very vulnerable at this point who could be making that decision based on their current position."
But, he said Port Vale weren't one of them and "wouldn't be making any hasty decisions".

Coventry could lose around 600 of its car parking spaces.
The city council is proposing closing six of its car parks, after seeing a "massive downturn" in their use, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The head of traffic management at the authority, Greg Payne, said that as a result of the downturn in usage, "we're paying to run and operate a number of car parks".
He said the reduction would still leave about 3,000 spaces in the city, but it had to be "prudent" with council tax payer money.
