    The Potters went 3-0 down before fighting back through Tyrese Campbell and Nathan Collins but could not find an equaliser.

    Elsewhere Birmingham City drew 1-1 at Luton Town with Lukas Jutkiewicz scoring for the Blues.

    In League One, Burton Albion stunned promotion-chasing Charlton with a 4-2 defeat while Shrewsbury Town drew at MK Dons and Crewe Alexandra lost at Accrington.

    In League Two, Walsall drew 1-1 at Newport County and Port Vale lost to Stevenage.

    Residents are being asked if a temporary one-way system on a narrow street in Shrewsbury could be made permanent.

    It was introduced, along with a 20mph speed limit, as an experiment on New Street over the summer.

    The one-way system was initially in place for up to 18 months but Shropshire Council is now asking residents and road users whether they would like to see them kept.

    Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a shop in Bromyard with a knife last night.

    This CCTV image has been released by West Mercia Police, who said the man walked into the Premier store on High Street at 19:40 and demanded cash from the till.

    No-one was hurt and the man left without any money.

    Three people have been arrested after a police pursuit across Leamington Spa and Warwick.

    Officers on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle on the M40 in Warwickshire that failed to stop when officers attempted to pull it over.

    Specialist officers were deployed and stopped the vehicle on Banbury Road in Warwick where they detained three people.

    A 29-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving under the influence of drink or drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, said West Midlands Police.

    A 25-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both from Birmingham, were also arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

    The cancellation of this year’s German Christmas market could be costing the city £187m in income, it has been revealed.

    Figures show Birmingham looks set to take a huge financial hit as a result of the market’s cancellation, with only Manchester expected to be hit harder.

    Approximately 5.5m people were expected to attend this year’s market over the course of November and December, with the £187m based on the assumption that each attendee would spend £34 during their visit.

    The study was carried out by the Where the Trade Buys website.

    A new £16m student accommodation complex has been completed in Coventry.

    The Eden Square project, which includes the conversion of Grade II listed buildings alongside two new buildings, is located on the former Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital site.

    The development has room for more than 300 students.

    Birmingham Airport will receive a government grant of up to £8m to help protect jobs and the local economy.

    The funding will also be used to support ground handlers and was announced along with plans to reduce the time needed in self-isolation after travelling abroad - another move that could benefit airports.

    From 15 December, passengers returning from overseas will be given the option of having a coronavirus test after five days in isolation, with a negative test releasing them from the need to isolate for any longer.

    New balconies are being incorporated into the design for the refurbishment of the Civic Halls in Wolverhampton, new images show.

    A second balcony will flow around three sides of the Civic Hall and a new balcony will be installed in the Wulfrun Hall.

    Delays due to the coronavirus pandemic mean the refurbished Wolves Civic is expected to reopen to the public in early 2022.
