Olympic boxer Ben Whittaker said he was happy to have won a silver medal at the Tokyo Games despite initially saying he was very disappointed to have come second.
The 24-year-old, from Darlaston, was left in tears on the podium after losing to Cuba's Arlen Lopez in the light-heavyweight gold-medal bout.
He stuffed the silver into his pocket and said he had come into the event to win gold, not silver.
But with a day to reflect, he told BBC Radio WM he was now happy with the outcome.
"What an achievement and I am bringing back a silver medal to the West Midlands, there is not much more I can do," he said.
Police are probing the blaze that killed Jason Hickinbottom and a pet dog.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club is among almost 200 firms "named and shamed" by the government for not paying workers the minimum wage
In total, 191 companies investigated between 2011 and 2018 failed to pay £2.1m to more than 34,000 workers.
The businesses were made to pay back the money as well as being fined £3.2m.
The cricket club said a technical issue meant pay for a small number of staff for some summer months fell below the wage and it reimbursed them when it found out.

The city council hopes Hugh Porter MBE will become a "figurehead" for cycling as it seeks to promote healthier and greener options for transport.
As part of its plans, a new pathway for cyclists and walkers is being developed through the central reservation along the entire length of Ring Road St Peters, a spokesperson says.
Mr Porter said he was "honoured and proud" of his new role, particularly ahead of Wolverhampton hosting cycling events for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in neighbouring Birmingham.

The new boss of Birmingham Bullring, landlord Hammerson, has laid out a new growth strategy which will see the group seek more opportunities away from retail.
The property giant said on Thursday that it planned to "reinvigorate" its assets and drive growth by filling empty retail units with a variety of offers in a bid to improve footfall.
Rita-Rose Gagne, who joined the London-listed firm late last year, said this could include food halls, events spaces and roof-top theatres to boost trade in the short term.
However, she said the firm would re-purpose some void retail spaces for alternative uses such as homes, hotels and offices.
Ms Gagne said: "We own flagship destinations around which we can curate and reshape entire neighbourhoods and city centre spaces for generations to come."

Moeen Ali propelled Birmingham Phoenix to victory in a record chase against Oval Invincibles in the men's Hundred at Edgbaston.
Needing 173 to win, the highest chase of the tournament so far, Moeen hit a fierce 49 from 26 balls to send his side top of the table.
The Birmingham captain swung the game in his side's favour by hitting three consecutive sixes - two off his England team-mate Tom Curran - to delight the home crowd.
That home support was silenced when Moeen fell with 35 needed from 29 balls but rookie Chris Benjamin - the 22-year-old who only made his professional debut last month - carried the Phoenix to victory with 37 not out.
In the end they won by six wickets with six balls to spare - a relatively comfortable margin given the size of their target.
