    Crewe Alexandra say they will make a further statement today following an incident of racist abuse at Saturday's game against MK Dons.

    The club said it happened in the stands and the matter is now being dealt with by police.

    The statement added, external: "We would like to reassure fans that this matter was dealt with immediately and is now in the hands of the police.

    "Crewe Alexandra will not tolerate any form of abuse."

    More walk-in Covid vaccination centres for 12 to 15-year-olds are to open across the Midlands.

    In some parts of the region, fewer than 10% of that age group have been vaccinated.

    Health bosses hope offering jabs without booking an appointment will encourage faster take up.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run and a stabbing happened close to each other in Handsworth in Birmingham.

    A 33-year-old man is in a life threatening condition in hospital after being hit by a car on Hamstead Road on Sunday morning.

    A 31-year-old man later turned up at hospital with stab injuries.

    Officers believe the stabbing took place at or near to the location of the hit-and-run.
