    The former MP told BBC Gloucestershire he's applying to run again.

    David Drew was the MP for Stroud from 1997 until 2010, when he lost his seat to the Conservative Neil Carmichael.

    His selection must first be approved by the local Labour Party.

    Watch: Swindon Town FC fans demand chairman Lee Power leaves the club

    Disappointed Swindon Town fans called for the club's chairman to leave after losing to Scunthorpe United on Saturday. 

    The 2-1 defeat sparked supporters to chant "we want Power out" as they left the ground. 

    Chairman Lee Power said the fans were "entitled to be angry" and added "I have to take full responsibility. One thing is for sure, I won’t be leaving".

    "With regret I've decided not to put myself forward to stand for the Liberal Democrats in Yeovil in the upcoming snap General Election," she says. 

    "Although I've been preparing for the past year, this election unfortunately comes at precisely the wrong time for me. 

    "I'm just in the process of completing purchasing a house within the constituency."

    Former Yeovil MP Paddy Ashdown says: "Daisy has helped to energise the constituency during her time as our PPC, and, I am very glad to tell you, has offered to continue to campaign for the upcoming county council elections in the time available to her, given her house move."

    A new service offering help to victims of stalking is being launched today. 

    The Gloucestershire Stalking Support Service has been set up by the Hollie Gazzard Trust, with support from Gloucestershire Police. 

    Hollie, 20, was killed by her ex-boyfriend, in February 2014, while working at Fringe Benefits and La Bella Beauty salon in Gloucester.

    Her father, Nick Gazzard, said the service would "ensure a robust response to stalking behaviour and its victims" and increase awareness. 

    The service will include a dedicated stalking helpline and advice and guidance from a fully-trained independent stalking advocacy caseworker.

    A baby gorilla born at Bristol Zoo has been described as "strong" in its first few hours of life. 

    Bristol Zoo said the baby was born to mum Touni and dad Jock in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

    A zoo spokesman said: "Despite being just a few hours old, the baby appears strong and mum is being very attentive."

    Swindon Town football fans are continuing their calls this morning for the chairman's departure from the club. 

    Shouting "we want Power out" they left disappointed after the Robins lost 2-1 at home to Scunthorpe yesterday, confirming relegation to League Two.
