Burst on 'larger main' says Bristol Waterpublished at 08:35 British Summer Time 19 July 2017
Bristol Water says it first started getting calls around midnight over the water problems.
Rob Ellis, from Bristol Water, said the burst is on one of its "larger mains".
"It's a large volume of water which is coming out which is making it difficult to find the area which we need to dig down to, to fix," he said.
"The storms, last night, has meant that there's a few trees over in the area as well - which is making it difficult."
The disruption is expected to last for several hours.
