Early morning ascent took place with pilots reporting difficult conditions
Planned ascent at 6pm is called off because the winds are too strong
But night glow goes ahead in front of bumper Ashton Court crowd

Despite all the problems on the way out, the night glow was spectacular. The queues for buses is slowly getting shorter.

The sheer volume of people coming down Clanage Road seems to have overwhelmed security marshals.
It feels like half of Bristol have come out of the UWE entrance For the past hour the road has been chocked though it is starting to clear.
The queue for the buses is down to about 200 yards now with most people patiently waiting.

However many people were not following the signs or listening to marshals and ended up going through security barriers which was then stopping the buses coming round the roundabout.
There was a bridge swing in the middle of all this that held traffic up, a marshal told me.
Some were taking out their frustrations with the three or four officers overseeing the area. Many didn't seem to take their advice "taking the law into their own hands" and risking walking down the road into oncoming buses.

People not following the signs appears to be causing much of the problems this evening.
Buses are not able to get to the roundabout at the end of Clanage Road because of people walking through the Ashton Way underpass.
And the queues are growing ever longer.
Balloon Fiesta staff are asking people to get out of the road but they are ignoring them.
Our reporter at the scene says people are getting confused walking out from Bower Ashton towards the Cumberland Basin.
Some people are walking down Clanage Road and heading down the full width of the road, stopping buses.
The roundabout there is closed off but some are ignoring Balloon Fiesta staff, cue much frustration.
The queue is "beyond my sight" it's so long, our reporter says.
