Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson says it will be "amazing to go toe-to-toe" with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho when their two sides meet in tonight's EFL Cup tie.

"He's absolutely at the top of his game, with world-class managerial qualities," Johnson, 36, told BBC Sport.

"Any young coaches like myself of course naturally try and emulate coaches like that.

"I'm ambitious and this is a good test for my team and for myself.

"Of course, the best possible scenario is that Bristol City get promoted and we can do this every week."

A brilliant programme cover by Bristol City tonight which has their manager Lee Johnson in superhero mode while Jose Mourinho looks more like an evil Sith Lord from the Star Wars films.

I spoke to Johnson after their fourth-round win over Crystal Palace and when I asked him who he wanted in the quarter-final draw he said “Manchester United at home”.

    It is his destiny...

Football nights like this don't come frequently in the West Country.

Bristol City haven't experienced a game of this magnitude since the 2008 Championship play-offs.

Goalscoring centre-back Aden Flint may have calmly labelled this match as the Robins' "least important of the month", given their hopes for promotion.

But rarely in recent memory has any fixture in this region generated such a battle for spare tickets amid the pre-match buzz.
