    About 12,00 jobs in Cambridge will be secured by a new £369m deal to service RAF Hercules planes in the city, according to Defence Secretary Michael Fallon.

    The Ministry of Defence, external has agreed the new contract with Marshall Aerospace, external to continue servicing the RAF's fleet of the transport planes.

    Mr Fallon said: "It will secure around 1,200 skilled jobs and ensure our essential RAF transport aircraft are prepared for operations for years to come."

    The MoD has announced a new £369m contract with Marshall Aerospace, external in Cambridge to maintain 'vital' RAF Hercules planes.

    The agreement will mean the continued in-service support of the RAF fleet by the Cambridge company who are specialists in servicing transport planes.

    RAF Hercules aircraft, external are used to carry troops, supplies and equipment in support of military operations around the world.
