    The makers of Wallace and Gromit have produced a short film for a Cambridgeshire-based charity Alzheimer's Research UK, external to address people's misconceptions about dementia.

    It features former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston, whose father Ronnie died following a 14-year battle with the illness. 

    Eccleston, 51, said he hoped it would "fight the misunderstanding and fatalism that surrounds dementia".

    A car has crashed into the Old Fire Engine House restaurant in Ely.

    The accident happened at about 12:30 on Sunday when the car went off the road into the building in St Mary's Street.

    East of England Ambulance Service, external said the driver was uninjured and discharged at the scene.

    A photo of a distinctive motel near Peterborough, thought to date from the 1970s, forms part of an archive of photographs being made available to the public. 

    The picture shows the Norman Cross Motel on Junction 16 of the A1(M)/A15 which has now been incorporated into the Premier Inn on the site.

    More than 3,000 Charrington Brewery photographs were rescued from a skip by Robert Humphreys, at the time an area manager for the brewery, and now willl be shared online by The National Brewery Heritage Trust (NBHT).

    By the summer punting touts could be banned from much of Cambridge city centre.

    The council wants to introduce a public space protection order, making it illegal for touts to sell boat tours further than 50m from the river.

    A decision will be made at a city council meeting tonight.

    Police, the force helicopter and the fire service were called at 00:30 to reports of concern for a man walking on the roofs of buildings in Market Square.

    A 21-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested and taken to Parkside Police Station on suspicion of burglary.

    Cambridge Police, the force helicopter and Cambridgeshire Fire Service have been in operation after a man was located on the rooftops of shops in Cambridge.

    Details are sketchy at the moment but we're trying to find out more information.

    A man arrested after a tractor was chased between two counties by six patrol cars and a force helicopter is appearing in court.

    The vehicle was taken from a farm in Tilney St Lawrence, Norfolk, on Saturday before being abandoned in Oakroyd Crescent in Wisbech during the evening.

    A 25-year-old man from Wisbech is due to appear via video link at Norwich Magistrates' Court charged with failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and driving without insurance.

    A road which has seen eight deaths and 15 serious injuries in its first five years is to get average speed cameras.

    The A16, in Lincolnshire, was extended to Peterborough in 2010 after years of campaigning, delays and a public inquiry. 

    The speed enforcement cameras will be installed on the stretch of road between Spalding and Crowland.
