    No... he hasn't suddenly had a windfall, but the £32.5m Lotto winners from Peterborough, one still a teacher and the other retired, may well have influenced one of our very own reporters in his younger life. 

    One of their former pupils was BBC Radio Cambridgeshire reporter Sam Edwards.

  2. Peterborough Lotto winners: A week to claim as the decorators were inpublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2016

    A couple from Peterborough say they took a week to claim their £32.5m Lotto windfall as the decorators were in.

    Lisa Cannings, a school teacher, said: "I know it sounds mad but we had a guy in to paint the whole house. We'd been planning it for ages and had packed everything into boxes."

    She added: "We just thought it would be easier to wait, although it did mean that Gerry had to carry round the winning ticket in his wallet all week. It was very nerve-wracking." 

    Mr Cannings, a retired teacher, said he had always dreamt of how he would spend his winnings.

    Congratulations to the Peterborough couple who scooped a £32.5m rollover Lotto jackpot, but waited a week to claim their winnings.

    Gerry Cannings, 63, and his wife Lisa, 48 were visiting friends in Slough when they purchased the winning ticket while buying a fish and chip supper.

    A couple from Peterborough who won £32.5m Lotto rollover jackpot on 13 February took a week to come forward to claim their prize.

    The couple will be revealed at 11:30 at Orton Hall near Peterborough, we'll have more from there later.

    The public can be "fairly comfortable" there are no problems with the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, according to the man leading the investigation into yesterday's crash. 

    It's emerged six people were injured when a bus left the guided route near Foster Road, in Cambridge, at 14:00 when it was travelling between Addenbrooke's Hospital and Trumpington, police say.

    Bob Menzies, from Cambridgeshire County Council says the guideway is used "hundreds of times a day".

    Emneth primary school near Wisbech is closed today after a fire in the early hours, external.

    Fire crews from Wisbech, West Walton and Kings Lynn South were called to the blaze at 01:40 this morning.  

    A notice on the school's website says they expect to be open again tomorrow.

  10. Bus crashed as it entered guided buswaypublished at 10:05

    This broken fence is where a bus using the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, external crashed in Cambridge yesterday afternoon.

    Five passengers were injured when the bus ploughed into an embankment near Foster Road, shortly after 14:00. 

    Bob Menzies, from Cambridgeshire County Council, says investigations are under way but it seems to have happened as the bus entered the guideway.

    An investigation is taking place after a bus using the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway crashed in Cambridge yesterday.

    Five people were injured when the bus crashed into a bank near Foster Road, at 14:00.  

    The busway, external has reopened this morning.
