    Cambridge University Library, external has marked International Women's Day by revealing this curiosity from its collection - the rules of a 1909 game pitching suffragettes against police.

    The idea of the "original and interesting" game is for the player controlling the suffragettes to pass police lines and gain access to the House of Commons.

    Police are appealing for witnesses, external after a woman was raped in March. 

    A woman in her 30s was walking home from a friend's house at around 20:30 on Sunday in an area known locally as the BMX Park, when she stopped and asked a man for directions. 

    The 18-year-old white man is said to have then raped her before running away when a group of people appeared.

    Police are appealing for witnesses following two violent incidents in Peterborough last night.

    A man in his 20s received "serious, but not life threatening" injuries after being attacked by a group of up to 10 people in Springnall, Bretton.

    In a separate incident, a man in his 40s received minor injuries after being assaulted by three or four men in Paston, at about 22:30.

    Newton, near Wisbech, is reverting to its original name Newton in the Isle. The parish council says it's "to set us apart" from the other 40 or so Newtons.

    About 80% of residents of the village, which has a population of about 600, voted to go back to the old name.

    Five men and a woman were found in the back of a lorry in Chatteris this afternoon.

    Police stopped the vehicle in New Road at 13:08.

    The six Iraqi nationals were taken into custody at King's Lynn Police Investigation Centre and will be handed over to immigration services.

    Tributes have been paid to "exceptional" Cambridge University student Thomas Millward, who died following a fall at Girton College on Sunday.

    A Cambridge engineering student died after suffering head injuries at Girton College on Sunday, police have said.

    Thomas Millward, 19, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he died at 11:00. 

    Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious, but a 19-year-old woman from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.

    She has been bailed to return to Parkside Police Station in Cambridge on 14 March.

    The ambulance service has confirmed that no-one was injured in a crash involving an ambulance and a car on Newmarket Road, Cambridge, this afternoon.

    Two women with minor injuries were assessed at the scene but didn't require further treatment. 

    The road has now reopened.

    Police say a man who went missing from Peterborough City Hospital may need urgent medical attention.

    Rimas Baltrusaitus, 53, was last seen near Rhubarb Bridge, wearing white pyjamas, at 19:30 yesterday.

    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police on 101.

    Peterborough-based travel firm Thomas Cook has cancelled all bookings to Sharm el-Sheikh until at least November.

    No flights have operated between the UK and Sharm since 17 November after a Russian plane crashed, killing 224 people. The so-called Islamic State subsequently claimed responsibility.

    Thomas Cook, external says there is "no clear indication as to when Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice may change" with regards to the destination.

    An ambulance involved in a crash in Cambridge was en route to an emergency call, according to the East Anglian Ambulance Service.

    It says there was no patient on board, and no staff were injured. The crash happened on Newmarket road, at about 13:10.

    Police have confirmed that an ambulance has been involved in a crash with a car on Newmarket Road in Cambridge.

    Officers were called to the incident, on the junction with Barnwell Road. The road remains blocked.

    The 2015 European Champion, Ben Saxton from Cambridge, has been selected, external for the Great Britain sailing team to take part in the Rio Olympics.

    With team mate Nicola Groves, the 25-year-old will compete in the Nacra 17 mixed multi-hull event, which also sees its first Olympic Games outing this year. It's the pair's first Olympic call-up.
