    Cambridgeshire Police has just told us the force has been given another 12 hours to question a man arrested over the death of six-year-old Rikki Neave (pictured) in Peterborough in 1994.

    A man in his 30s and from the city was arrested on suspicion of murder at just before 07:00 yesterday.

  8. Latest: Fire on Newmarket Road in Cambridgepublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    I've just got to the scene of a fire that broke out on Newmarket Road in Cambridge earlier this morning.

    Despite earlier reports from the fire service the blaze was at a garage, it is actually at Leverton House bed and breakfast, close to Marshall Land Rover and Cambridge Airport.

    I can see blackened window frames and the fire appears to now be out. Newmarket Road has reopened, but some fire crews and police remain at the scene.

  9. Duke of Cambridge concentrating on family and air ambulance duties in the Eastpublished at 10:11 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    The Duke of Cambridge has rejected criticism of his commitment to his royal duties, saying he's concentrating on his family, and on his job as a pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance.

    In a BBC interview, ahead of the Queen's 90th birthday tomorrow, Prince William said he was "absolutely willing" to take on more responsibility when the time came.

    He said: "When the Queen decides that she's going to hand down more responsibilities, I'll be the first person to accept them."

  10. Cambridge garage fire: Newmarket Road reopenspublished at 10:00 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    We have yet to hear any more information about the garage fire on Newmarket Road in Cambridge from the fire service, but Stagecoach has just tweeted that the road has since reopened.

    Three crews - two from Cambridge and one from Newmarket - were sent to the scene earlier this morning.

    If we get anything more confirmed we'll bring it to you.

    Any early mist or fog patches will quickly clear this morning to give a dry day across all parts with long sunny spells.

    People living in and around the Cambridgeshire village of Perry have been told they can reopen their windows and doors this morning following a chlorine gas leak at Grafham Water Treatment Works.

    Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is assuring residents that no chemical left the site after the leak yesterday afternoon and the "off-site alarm did sound during the incident as a precautionary measure".

    "We thank everyone for their patience during the incident and apologise for any inconvenience," a fire spokesman said.
